The Absolute Worst Failure — When a Company Cannot Even Handle the Simplest Technical Tasks

I created an account and made a top-up payment of 5 USD. When I tried to buy a number, KYC verification was required.I attempted to submit KYC four times but encountered repeated issues:The first submission failed, showing that my document had expired, even though it was valid and not expired. The second submission appeared to be successful, but it later disappeared, and I received an email asking me to submit KYC again. The third attempt again showed the document expired error, even though the document was valid. The fourth attempt also disappeared without any explanation.I also tried to contact support through the chat system. The AI assistant asked unrelated questions, such as where I heard about the service, just to open a support ticket. However, after chatting with the agent, the chat session ended with an error message stating that the ticket could not be created. At last, a support agent connected upon my request, initiated a refund, and closed the account. However, a technology company that cannot handle simple tasks such as KYC verification and support ticket creation cannot be trusted to manage more critical services like telecommunications.

What a mess of a company...

What a mess of a company. I came upon this company because, of all things, Claude recommended it. I put in all of our company details exactly as we're legally registered. I passed the KYC verification where the system asked for my passport and verify it against my selfie - it asked as well for my national ID number, which I provided. All of thee verifications were completed:- Email is verified- A verified phone number has been provided- A service address has been provided- 2FA is enabled- Payment with credit card has been made- KYC has been successfully passedBut, there's one more which says incomplete:AI agent evaluation has [NOT] been approvedTheir documentation doesn't identify what this is. Their AI chatbot doesn't know what this is. Their sales team doesn't know what this is (YES - I was actually contacted by sales, but they said there is nothing they can do and I have to contact support.)So, I contacted support... first, in their chatbot, they say their verifications team isn't available (basically, nobody is ever available), and then (expected at this point): "Unfortunately we experienced an error while creating your ticket."So, I tried e-mailing. I explained my struggle, how no documentation explains what this is, how the chatbot doesn't know what this is, how the sales team doesn't know what this is. An agent "Akshata Nayak" told me "a NOC team member will be with you shortly. if this is urgent (causing an outage), do let us know the severity of the issue and we'll prioritize this case". WHAT? This has nothing to do with NOC or outages? But, they said they were triaging my case, so I guess I would wait. Well, then I received then "If we don't hear back from you in 2 days, we'll assume it's safe to mark this ticket as solved." Huh???So, I email back telling them this is very frustrating. An AI agent replies (of course) "I want to be transparent: I'm an AI assistant, and I can see that your account is in good standing (KYC verified, payment set up, no blocks). However, the "AI Agent Verification" requirement you're encountering appears to be a newer verification process that I cannot resolve on my own." and "I am now escalating this directly to a human support engineer..."LOL! Well, obviously, nobody is replying.... and I'm pretty sure nobody will reply. I'm asking Claude what other options might fit my use case, because this doesn't work at all and the company is a horrible mess.I do wish I had read the reviews sooner, though - as the reviews for this company are basically tanking. I shouldn't have tried.

Scammers

Scammers. They lure you in this sleek tech website style, you end up wasting your time and money with products that do not function. Customer service if full of chatbots pretending to be real humans that will not find any solutions, instead repeatedly asking the same questions that are irrelevant.I wonder how such companies still exist in 2026.

Great Twilio alternative and way more affordable

I’ve been testing different telephony providers for my project and Telnyx is definitely the winner for me.The best part is the support. They have a live chat that is actually free and they reply in minutes. They helped me set up my numbers and SIP trunking without any of the usual headaches you get with other big providers unless you pay for a premium plan.Service-wise, it’s top-notch. They have better coverage for specific countries I needed (like Cyprus) where others struggle. The platform is clean, easy to use, and the rates are much lower. If you want something solid that just works without breaking the bank, I highly recommend them.

Terrible

Terrible. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Blocks you at every turn. Use an alternative product if you are looking to use agents within your application.

100% Garbage -- stay away!!!

Account was suspended within minutes of signing up due to a $0.06 negative balance -- how is that even possible, I just signed up?!! Then I couldn't add funds because their identity verification (Linkedin and GitHub) failed, despite both accounts being active and in good standing (I was literally in GitHub building the product while I was trying to sign up with Telnyx!). So I'm locked out of a frozen account with no way to resolve It. Support is message-only with no ETA.I chose Telnyx for a production SMS project based on their competitive pricing. Instead I wasted hours on account setup and have nothing to show for it. If their onboarding is this broken, I can't trust them with production traffic. Moving to another provider. You've been warned, stay away!!!

They are actually great

can i give them no stars ? would be great, My registration was rejected with “does not comply with our security standards” even though I used Google Sign-In and an official Google Workspace business email for my company domain. No details, no meaningful guidance, and a very poor onboarding experience.Support didn’t make this easier. I won’t trust a provider with messaging/voice services if they can’t handle basic signup properly. Update: they made it up to me and actually their support team is great, it was a bit of misunderstanding and issues not on my side, so yeah dont mind the review above. Thanks telnyx team.

They are likely a scam company…

They are likely a scam company operating from a basement. Their infrastructure is awful and unfnished, looks like AI slop. So many broken things -1. Their toll free verification form doesn’t take any country other than united states2. No one takes care of dlc regulatory review or toll free regulatory review submission even after weeks3. Broken documentation pages4. Support replies after a week even though their site says 24/7 support. If you call them, no one picks up.5. Gives sassy reply “delete your account” instead of fixing any bugs reported. It felt like even the employees didn’t want to work there and is irritated at all times I seriously wonder if this is actually a company and not some scammer!

Misleading, awful, inconsistent support

After having charged my credit card, after having provided them with a copy of my AZ license, my IRS EIN letter, and the Arizona DBA showing that I am who I say I am, they are now requiring a copy of my Passport (never mentioned they needed it before)??? In order to remove an IVR preamble (when calls are coming in, not outgoing). In 30 years as a service provider I have never heard of such a thing, VERY SUS!!!Support is awful, with way longer than a 24 hour response, no phone support (only email), and it appears that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. They ask for one thing, you provide it, than they ask for another, and don't tell you ahead of time that all these (my passport?? really??) is required for you to get the full service, even though you have paid for it. Again, to simply have their injected preamble removed from inbound calls (users are calling the number to report incidence). They UI is pretty trash too. It's not at all intuitive or straight forward; like the business operations, it is complex and overwrought with features that are confusing and hard to navigate, when you're trying to do something simple as having an IVR answer (without their "this might be a scam" preamble, on an inbound line), and forward it to a VoIP radio. They sound like one of these offshore fly by night operations that change names every few years do to all the bad rep. There are MANY SIP providers; We will no longer be using this one.

Good Company

I got some great numbers in the UK because I think I was the first in my area. The setup was pretty easy as I'm hosting my own 3cx instance. A few days of pain and fully set up with great numbers and competitive per number pricing and call rates. The support is decent too and they spring into action when nudged along. All in all a good company and very innovative. I'm glad I moved to them.

DO NOT USE if you are a business

Still waiting on a UK number purchase approval, that has taken nearly a week. SO frustrating, zero communication I recommend twilio instead.

Shame

I’ve spent hundreds of dollars with this company and can’t even get real support. I’ve had 10 different agents jump in and out of the same chat, and they all sound like they’re pasting AI-generated replies. My system was working fine until the outage on the 13th. They said everything was back up, but now every single call is failing. It’s been three days with zero real help.Responses take hours. One agent literally replied with “okay.” They send overly complex instructions, and when I ask for clarification, they just dump long articles instead of actually helping. This has been the worst experience of my life, and I regret spending so much money with them. The fact that I can’t even get a quick 5–10 minute call as a customer who’s used hundreds of numbers is insane.

Affordable VoIP with Excellent Call Quality and SIP Debugging

After using other VoIP application providers, Telnyx impresses me as they are more affordable, offer good call quality, and provide excellent SIP debugging tools. I was struggling with integrating an external SIP server, and their SIP debugging tools directly from the dashboard helped me see the step-by-step of the call flow.Their account onboarding time does take a while, which is kinda of understandable as they need a human to review, but after that, things work smoothly.

Telnyx brilliant product and service

I recently started using Telnyx after looking for the best platform for me for a very long time. The best part besides the amazing network is the customer service. 24/7 365 chat help available. I was chatting to then on Christmas day. Brilliant.

Really poor customer support

Really poor customer support, I should have gone with Twillio or any other service provider. I bought a number from Telynx, provided all the required documentation and its been days no response on that, tried to contract support multiple times as well, no response there as well.
