Terrible job

My son, Todd Lovering, scheduled Stanley Steemer, Reno, to clean and treat/remove pet stained areas in my small home in early January. The cleaner walked through the rooms (two bedrooms, hall and living room) indicating the areas that needed special pet urine treatment. The job took about an hour and the cleaner charged over $300! The carpets were soaking wet for over 48 hours, smelled horribly of urine and a sickly perfume odor. The smell was terrible and the pet urine was still there. Awful job! About 10 days later my son hired a different professional, recommended by the residential management company where he lives, to redo Stanley Steemer’s work. They did an excellent job! The urine and perfume odors are gone. Cost $150. Wonderful job!Stanley Steemer should refund the poor quality job in full.

Where do I even begin?

Where do I even begin? I scheduled service for a day that I took off from work to be here for the six-hour – yes, six hours! – window this company requires for service. I spent another half-hour preparing the room where the work would occur. I was very explicit in my instructions when I booked the service that I could not guarantee street parking for the technician’s van, but I could provide garage parking. When he arrived, he said he could not park in the garage and there was not immediate street parking in front of our Home, so he left. Five minutes later the space opened up in front of our home and I immediately called dispatch and asked that he returned and do the work. They said it was too late; he had already moved on, five minutes after he left my home for what would’ve been a multi-hour appointment. On top of that issue, the company sent me a confirmation email with the photograph of a technician who was entirely different than the technician who showed up at my home. I understand that schedules changed, but given that that is a security and safety precaution, the company should’ve followed up with an update that a new technician would be arriving. After all of this, the company kept insisting that they could come back tomorrow after I told the dispatcher repeatedly that I was unavailable for the rest of the week because I would not be home to allow the technician in. His solution was to continue to offer tomorrow as the service day, along with a $25 discount on what would have been an $800 cleaning job.All around incredibly disappointing experience with even worse customer service. You lost a customer for life, Stanley Steemer.

If i could give them zero stars I…

If i could give them zero stars I would, I called because I payed up front for a promotion, they said if I paid almost 600.00 that after my initial steam cleaning of 3 rooms that I would get 3 more times for free for any 2 rooms. So I called to schedule my 2nd cleaning and this time I wanted my bedroom and living room steam cleaned he said we can't do your bedroom because that wasn't one of the rooms we, he said it has to be 2 of the rooms we already did. I said that's not what the guy who was here cleaning who talked me into this deal told me he said any 2 rooms in your home. The guy from Stanley steamer who answers their phone said " Do you believe everything you hear???? I said excuse me? I said why are you talking to me like this i said id like to speak to your boss, he then said I will just give you a refund I said a refund he said yes do you want a refund I said you know what yes I do! I'd hate for this guy to work for me if I had a business, he just lost them basically 400.00 dollars for the last 3 cleanings. Smh

If I could rate a zero I would

If I could rate a zero I would. As always with a scam company, quote a price then want more money when they come. Then they hooked up to my neighbors water and started a big drama. Of course she added an $18 tip onto the bill too

If I could give this company zero…

If I could give this company zero stars, I would!!! They advertise a carpet cleaning special of $119 for 3 rooms and a hallway. The guy added something to the bill, not sure what but we ended up paying 145. Even though I paid more than the advertised price, they did a poor job cleaning my carpets. They look the same as before. I don't think they even applied any product to the rug, just water and steam. They didn't get rid of any stains!!!!! I ended up using my small green machine to get rid of the stains myself. These people are crooks. Don't use them unless you want to waste your money.

3 Weeks later carpet STILL WET

On July 15th Stanley Steemer came out to clean the carpets at our new home as a pre-move in precaution because we have grandchildren who will be crawling and toddling around on the floors. When we went back for our final walk through on the 17th before closing, the carpet was still wet and it had just begun to have a musty odor. I called Stanley Steemer and they agreed to come back the next day. The tech who came and the woman I spoke with to make the appointment both said the original tech had overwet the carpet, which was what caused the problem. But they said recleaning and deodorizing would fix it. It did not. The odor got worse. On the 19th, they came again with the manager, he said recleaning and deodorizing AND adding in sanitizing spray would definitely solve the problem. The carpet kept smelling worse. Finally got the franchise owner who had come to town to come back out on July 24th. He claimed to not smell it, and didn’t feel the dampness, but agreed to send out a Carpet Inspector, confirming for me who that was and that I’d be hearing from him. When we didn’t hear from the Inspector for a few days, we hired and paid for a local Carpet Inspector, same qualifications/training/certification as the original one hired by the owner. He came out on July 29th and examined the carpet. His official report clearly stated based on the physical examination and the evidence that the carpet was indeed still wet after 3 WEEKS and that the fault lay clearly with STANLEY STEEMER and NOT the homeowners. I spoke with the owner and let him know the inspection had been completed, shared the Inspector’s name and contact information with him and forwarded the report to him. Now we can’t get anyone to return our calls. The smell now permeates the home, we are having headaches from the smell and of course mold becomes a real concern. This is not a company to ever choose to clean your carpets based on our experience.

CASH STOLEN FROM MY HOUSE DURING AIR…

CASH STOLEN FROM MY HOUSE DURING AIR DUCT CLEANING. I recently purchased two services from Stanley Steemer (carpet cleaning and air ducts) and during the 10 minutes I stepped outside of my bedroom for the team to clean the air ducts in my bedroom, $170 was taken from a closed jewelry box on my dresser. I realized it within minutes of the team leaving as I had placed the cash, along with my phone, air pods, and other valuables in the jewelry box so they wouldn't be sitting out while I stepped out for them to clean the room and immediately contacted the number on my invoice. For the next few hours, I was transferred to multiple individuals at Stanley Steemer and advised that I needed to file a police report and the location Manager would contact me today following an inquiry with the servicing technicians. The West Allis location Manager informed me that he spoke to both individuals, and they have denied the allegation. Furthermore, he stated that because I have filed a police report (at the direction of Stanley Steemer) there is nothing further the company can do, and this is now in the hands of the police. I was hoping to avoid personally filling charges against the individuals, as they know exactly where I live, but will be left with no other choice but to do so, should I have to chase down corporate management further for this issue. I understand this is a small amount of cash, however, the fact that someone went into a closed jewelry box and took something out of it, while I was home, during a service I paid a lot of money for is something I cannot ignore. I partnered with Stanley Steemer because of their wide range of services and large corporate footprint, thinking I’m working with a trusted brand and partner, crossing off my “to-do” list and even purchasing additional services that I was excited to use, but instead I am now spending my time escalating nefarious conduct to the police, trying to get in contact with local management and being given the run around, and now spending my time taking it public. The time I have already spent on this is worth much more than what was taken from me, but I simply cannot ignore this gross violation of privacy and professional conduct from a bad egg in a massive corporation. I expect further action than a local Manager telling me “There’s nothing further he can do”.

DO NOT USE STANLEY STEEMER- They SCAM

DO NOT USE STANLEY STEEMER- They SCAMI put the order in for basic cleaning (absolutely no add-ons) and the guy showed up with that correct order (which the call center confirmed) and proceeded to scam their way into applying an upgrade. Their phone number goes into a call center and you have to argue your way into speaking to anyone besides the call center person who has no authority to do anything. The "manager" is basically a rude person that talks over you and declared that the order is meaningless...only what the guy can manage to sell you at the house is what matters. Even when the technician was told to stop from putting deodorizer on the floor (which he said was necessary or the carpet would smell from the cleaning!!) he continued to try to sell it, along with trying to sell cleaning more rugs even after being told no several times. What a racket....they have no integrity. The manager readily admitted he was not ok with the guy continuing to try to sell after he was told to stop but refused to do anything about it and hung up. They are horrible and the job they did on the carpet was terrible. They caused the carpet to buckle in several areas that now has to be stretched. The whole thing was a fiasco. DO NOT USE THEM.

STANLEY STEAMER Cleaned My Wallet

STANLEY STEAMER Cleaned My Wallet: They took several area wool rugs in for cleaning. When returned, the rugs were still stained. The cost was $1,300. When I asked for a 50% refund, the representative who contacted me said they do not do refunds.

actual charge is 3 times the estimate they give you

they gave me an estimate for $600 to clean the air duct and the dryer vent. They came in for two hours and they ended up charging me $1,669. In addition to $925 charge for two furnace, they charged me $20 per air vent for 25 vents. They never opened the vent or touched them. I do not know what was the $500 charge for. I called the office to complain three times, each time they said they will get back to me and the third time the manger will not answer my call. In addition to all this they messed up my air dryer vent, they plow the air from the outside vent and pushed all the lints deep in the vent and now there is no air going out from the dryer. They clogged my air dryer vent. Never use them again or recommend them to any one.

UNRELIABLE-NO SHOW-NO CALL

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT RELIABILITY. I booked an appointment for my kids to get their carpets cleaned on their new home purchase before they moved in; the appointment was for today and the kids waited 6 hours (appt. Between Noon-6pm) at 6:20pm kids called me as no one had showed up. Called the 800# and a rep told me that someone called me at 4:32pm and cancelled as they had an emergency. We all checked our phones, no messages, no missed calls, no voicemails, just a pure no show. Thanks for messing up the whole move plan for us! The Rep could have cared less and told me it would be a week before they could get back to us again. Don’t waste your time. Sounds like someone was done for the day and ready to go home. Horrible customer service-no show-no call-no service and leaves you hanging! NEVER AGAIN! DON’T EVEN CALL!

I don’t understand the bad reviews…

I don’t understand the bad reviews Stanley Steemer received! Dave was the cleaners name and we also had him do our sectional and chair. What a difference! The furniture was so much brighter and carpet looks great. Dave did an exceptional job and Sarah who answered the phone when I called was very friendly. I highly recommend them.

AVOID Stanley Steemer's fraudulent pricing scams!

Over the last 2-3 weeks, I have reached out to Stanley Steemer customer service 3 times to no avail. They have not responded to any attempt to resolve my issues. They engage in deceitful pricing and have not given any indication in any way that they intend to do the right thing. BUYER BEWARE.We were quoted by 2 different people from separate phone calls ~$770 for grout cleaning and sealing for 3 rooms and to clean 3 upholstered pieces of furniture. We agreed and set up a service date. When the technicians arrived, they told my husband they would have to charge us double for 2 of the rooms because "of how they were set up". That was the only explanation offered. our total price ended up just north of $1200, a far cry from the $770 originally quoted. I ended up writing an initial review to express our dissatisfaction with this, and I received a phone call from the local management team who told me that the problem is that the call centers do not adequately explain what constitutes a room. He said that a room is 15 X 20 or 300 sq ft, and that is the call center's fault for not relaying that. He said all he can do is apologize. When the technicians arrived at our house, they told my husband that the price was changed "because of the way you have it laid out". That is not a defensible definition. That puts the customer in the position of having to tell them to leave or telling them to clean only part of the floors to keep it in line with the quote. Neither of those should be the customers burden. Based on the information given me as to what constitutes a room, I pulled measurements of the rooms that they charged us double for. The technicians that came to my house labeled the mudroom as 2 rooms, a foyer and a laundry room. There is no delineation in the room, and the "foyer" is a small area where you step into the house from the driveway. It measures 6' across by either 7' or 9' depending on if you estimate to the front of the door frame to enter the kitchen area or the end of the door frame to enter the kitchen area. (I took multiple measurements to make sure I covered the range of possibilities to what they may have estimated.) The remaining portion of the room is 4'2" wide at the widest part (but even narrower where the double door refrigerator, front loader washer, and front loader dryer are) and either 20' or 21' feet long, depending on where their estimation started and ended. (See photos lalbed "Mudroom measurements #1, "End of 1st Mudroom measurement", and "Mudroom measurements #2".) The square footage of the "foyer" would be either 42 sq ft or 54 sq ft, and the "laundry room" portion would be 84 sq ft or 88.2 sq ft. Even if you add the larger of those figures together to get the total square footage of the space, it only comes to 142.2 sq ft, a far cry from the 300 sq ft that constitutes a room. It certainly does not meet the definition of 2 rooms. When I measured the entire room as a whole and used 6' as the width (even though it is smaller than 4' for a large portion of the room) by 28.2 feet, it still does not meet 300 sq ft for one room, much less exceed it. I also pulled dimensions on my kitchen and the dining area in it. (Photos also attached.) The total square footage of floor space treated falls at ~260 sq ft plus the pantry, which measures 4' x 3'8". The buffet and wine refrigerator were not moved and cover roughly 11 square feet. Once again, this does not exceed the limit of what constitutes one room, much less 2. Based on this information, I requested a refund for one of the rooms in the "foyer/laundry room" and for the "kitchen/dining area". This would bring services rendered closer in line with the quote that I was given. If the definition of a room is based on dimensions, which is particularly important based on an open floor space like what is in my house, then measurements should be taken to maintain objectivity and transparency. Subjectively saying something is 2 rooms without either of them exceeding the stated limits is misleading at best and outright fraud at worst. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS...BECAUSE IT WILL COST YOU IF NOT.

Do not Honor their Quote

I received a quote for 2 bedrooms for $145. When the technician came, he told me that it would be $50 more because they would have to bring the equipment up the elevator! Also, a closet in the bedroom would be an additional fee. This place is a rip off. SHAME ON THEM!

Poor Decision

I recently hired Stanley Steemer for a cleaning service, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. We are listing our home for sale and wanted a deep clean on the floors to eliminate this cleaning for myself and to make the house look the best. The cleaning itself was rushed and lacked attention to detail. Despite paying for a deep clean, I noticed several areas that were still dirty, and some stains that should have been treated were barely touched. If the machine didn’t reach the area, it was not cleaned. As I spent my Sunday cleaning floors and scrubbing corners, in which I paid good money to have cleaned, I felt the need to write a review so others that are thinking they would make life a little easier will not make the same mistake as I did. I will not be using Stanley Steemer again and would not recommend them to anyone looking for thorough and reliable cleaning.

They did not show up as scheduled

They did not show up as scheduled. They didn't call and stay in touch with me. I waited all afternoon for them and even moved furniture around so I could get my place cleaned. Poor communication. When they said that they were on the way, I went out front to meet them. No one ever showed up!

Pleased with carpet cleaning experience

Scheduling carpet cleaning with good offers was easy and professional. Mustafa from the Rosedale MD location arrived smiling within the appointment time window. He was friendly, courteous, and very energetic. He confirmed what he was scheduled to do and made sure we were in agreement. Stains came out in areas we didn’t expect would come out but other stains we thought would come out did not. This was no fault on Mustafa. He gave it his all. This process does require a water source or technician has to haul buckets of water from house to truck. Without going into detail about our situation, we highly recommend against hooking up to a sink faucet. We have been repeat customers for many years and would use again.
