Don't
We hired Jared to paint the interior walls, trim and doors. He also replaced the kitchen flooring for us. I thought the original quote included the doors. He said he'd have to get at least another $100 per door. His reasoning was because to get a good application he'd have to take them down to sand and paint. I said fine. Well, got back from a work trip and the doors had not been taken down to paint, weren't primed, barely a coat of paint and already peeling. This is Sherwin Williams paint, mind you. He tried to make it right. He took some of the doors to strip, clean, prime and repaint. Which turned out well. Now, I had to buy the extra paint, primer, stripper and cleaner. An extra $200. I did request the extra supplies to be returned if anything was left. Jared said they ran out and he had to buy another gallon of black paint........So, I went to Sherwin Williams today to buy more stripper, primer, and black paint to redo the doors he did not take and the door jams because the paint is coming off. Tried to place a claim with his insurance. His insurance doesn't cover poor workmanship. A very expensive lesson learned.
