SanDisk, inventors of Flash Drives
SanDisk are the inventors of Flash Drives, but like OpenAI when they brought the first chat ChatGPT. They never advanced, Google, Claude and other surpassed them easily. The same here, the SandDisk flash drives heat up a lot, and after a while they become unreadable, which is a pity. They are expected to produce a better quality and more reliable products, but they don't. Today, I deliberately seek non-SandDisk drives mainly because of reliability issues, but also heat.

I’ve been building rigs for 20 years…
I’ve been building rigs for 20 years and I have never dealt with a company as difficult as WD/SanDisk. I’ve had two of their NVMe drives fail in less than a year. My 4TB SN850X flagship just died out of nowhere, and a second drive I bought for my son started throwing reliability warnings after one week of use. For "premium" gaming storage, the failure rate is pathetic. I have older drives from other brands that have been through three different builds and still work perfectly, but these WD drives are a total gamble. The support experience was even worse. When I tried to RMA the 4TB drive, they basically refused to honor the warranty because of my location. Even though I’m in the EU, they claimed they couldn't handle the logistics or provide a functioning return label for my region. On top of the shipping excuses, their "warranty policy" is a joke. They actually try to tell you that the warranty is void if you remove the sticker to get better thermal contact with a real heatsink. For anyone who knows their stuff, you know these drives need proper cooling to avoid throttling, and in the EU, it’s actually illegal for them to void a warranty over a sticker unless they can prove you caused the damage. It’s clear this company wants to hide behind technicalities and "void" stickers instead of standing by their hardware. Between the high failure rates and the fact that they will dodge your RMA if you live anywhere slightly off the map, I’m done with them. If you’re a serious builder who actually cares about your data and your consumer rights, save yourself the headache and buy a Samsung or a Crucial instead.

SanDisk is absolute Junk
absolute junk. Zero intuitive experience. The disk drive when used to pull photos off a phone fails 90% of the time. I'm on attempt 4 now to get my photos copied. When you plug into a PC there's nothing there. In this day and age there is no company that can solve getting photos off the iphone unless you use Google, Microsoft or Amazon.

Typical SCAM, nothing new
I was scammed out of several dozen euros. The amount was small, of course, but that doesn't change the fact. Almost a month has passed since I paid, and I still haven't received the goods, and I still haven't received a refund. After repeated attempts to explain the situation, I was ignored with copy/paste instructions, and finally, I was informed that the goods were out of stock and that I should wait patiently (and, of course, "we're sorry"). Of course, all without any specific date. This is a typical SCAM on the level of Temu, a textbook example. This company is finished.Order nr:S006745021Support incidents:260130-000157260127-002110260108-001773

Bought a 24TB hard drive for over £2.5k (G-SPEED SHUTTLEXL). Drive no longer switches on. Contact via chatbot; response: "Sorry, an error occurred. One moment, please, while I put you through to someone who can help."And that's it. No help. No support. No humans. Just take the money for a crap product and run.I've lost years of work. Please avoid this company and their products at all costs.

SanDisk Country-based unequal treatment
SanDisk Extreme Pro issue in Turkey – Read before buyingI live in Turkey and purchased a SanDisk Extreme Pro 512GB microSD card. The moment I took the card out of its package and inserted it into my Insta360 X5 action camera for the very first time, it failed. The card was never used, never formatted, and not a single recording was made.I contacted SanDisk support and clearly explained that the product carries a 10-year warranty and that it failed on first insertion without ever working. I shared photos and the serial number. The response I received can be summarized as follows:“We do not provide warranty replacement service in Turkey. We also cannot ship products to Turkey. If you were outside of Turkey, a one-time replacement could be possible. Please contact your local distributor in Turkey.”Following their advice, I contacted Arena, the official distributor in Turkey. Arena stated that they could proceed with the replacement only if SanDisk sent an approval email. When I relayed this back to SanDisk, they then:Refused to approve the replacementClassified the product as physical damage and closed the case entirelyThe contradiction is very clear:If I had an address outside of Turkey, a “one-time exception” replacement was possibleWhen attempting a solution through the official distributor in Turkey, the same product was suddenly rejected as physical damageIn other words, SanDisk applies different standards depending on the country.SanDisk markets a 10-year warranty in Turkey, yet in practice provides no real warranty support. As a result:I am left with a card that I could not use even onceI am forced to throw away a product for which I haven’t even paid the first installment yetI have been actively involved in snowboarding and diving for over 10 years, and I have used many brands of action cameras and microSD cards. I have never experienced this level of inconsistency and lack of support with any other brand.Anyone considering buying this product should think twice.I have been seriously affected by this situation, and I hope others can avoid the same experience.Sandisk Case Reference: 260103-000196

Never buy there
My order was cancelled due to a website glitch. I hope they just don't sell on their website.

Don't buy from their store
I wish I had checked the reviews before ordering. I purchased an SSD from the SanDisk online store, and while the delivery timeframe was initially reasonable, the shipment was rescheduled multiple times by UPS. Eventually, it was marked as delivered, but I never received the package.I contacted SanDisk to resolve the issue, but after more than a week of back-and-forth communication, they ultimately told me there was nothing they could do and that it was not their responsibility, despite the item never being delivered to me.As a customer, I found their support response unprofessional and irresponsible. Being left without any meaningful help in this situation is extremely frustrating, especially for a high-value item that should have required a signature or secure delivery. I’ve never had to dispute a charge with my credit card before, but I’m now forced to move forward with my bank to get a refund.

Swapping HHD for SSD Western Digital / SanDisk
Purchased Western Digital SSD drive to replace existing HDD in my laptop. Choose WD as it indicated free cloning software was available. Purchased disk enclosure which allows the drive to be accessed via USB port. Downloaded and installed the software (Acronis). The software would only work if it detected a WD drive present. The software failed to see the USB drive as being Western Digital. Googled the problem and discovered behavior had been encountered by numerous other users. Also found “To solve this, you can contact WD support to download a special .exe file.”. Accessed WD website for support and to get the executable. Webpage indicated that as of February 2025 the Western Digital SSD drives are now supported by SanDisk. Opened support case on SanDisk website “Acronis software does not see the WD Blue SA510 connected using USB enclosure.". Response from SanDisk included links to download and install Acronis software (should have been apparent this had already been done). The email response included “Also, SanDisk does not recommend connecting the internal SSD with an enclosure as we recommend connecting the internal SSD with the Motherboard directly”. The response is a bit absurd given the intent is to migrate from an existing HHD drive to the new SSD. The point of purchasing a drive that comes with cloning software should have made this evident. Looked SanDisk up on trustpilot.com to see if the support (or rather lack thereof) was common. They had 1.6 rating on a 5-star scale. Might be that those satisfied with SanDisk support are not as likely to enter a review. I was able to complete the migration using different cloning software however was disappointed with SanDisk support.

Should be called Scamdisk
Should be called Scamdisk! Orders 2 Extreme Pro 256GB SD Cards and received one. Disputed it with them 3 times and they said “we escalated this to the highest priority” and determined you received both cards. This is a bold faced lie. There is a reason this company has a 1.7 trust pilot rating. Will NEVER buy from them again.

Good after sale service
Surprised to see such a bad rating for Sandisk. My sd failed after 6 years. They changed it and sent a new one without hassle.Very good customer service.

Three weeks ago I bought a M.2 SSD from the Sandisk website. It was delivered to me by UPS in 2 days which is very fast in my opinion. Unfortunately the moment it arrived it turned out I didn`t need the product anymore (long story). After reading many negative reviews here I was hesitated to send the product back to Sandisk. However I know that Sandisk is a big well known company so I decided to take the risk. Filling in a return request was very simple and I received the return lable in my e-mail within seconds. After bringing the package to a UPS Access Point the tracking showed that it reached its destination in 3 days. Two days later I already received a credit memo from Sandisk in my e-mail that I would get the money back. Yesterday they paid me back the full price so I am very happy with their service.

Absolutely horrible customer service
Absolutely horrible customer service. I bought a Sandisk Pro Blade 2 TB drive and it broke within 10 days. I sent it in to Sandisk to get a quick replacement and it took 20 days for them to send me the wrong product which was addressed to an entirely different customer in New york. So I call in to try to fix the situation and weeks later they still havent sent me the correct product or even tried to fix this situation. I had to go out of my way to ride one hour by bike to ship back the SDD which they incorrectly sent me, and then they did nothing to fix the problem. I have called them everyday for 14 days and they have lied repeatedly on the phone about fixing this problem. I've spent over 8 hours on the phone, unpaid time, trying to get them to send me the drive that I legally own and they are obligated by warranty to replace, back to me. At this point it seems they are running a fraudulent operation stealing customer's products. They are the ones that made a mistake in sending me another customers product with my shipping label. And it is their responsibility to fix their mistake as quickly as possible, but they are repeatedly lied on the phone and they have done nothing to fix this situation after over 1 month from sending in my broken and corrupt problade drive in to get a replacement. I'm not even talking about how upset I was to purchase a PRO drive and to lose all my video work from 10 days of shooting. This experience is by far the worst in my life in regards to customer service. I will never ever buy a sandisk product again and I will go out of my way to tell as many people as I can just how horrible this company is and they don't deserve to exists. What a joke of an "American" company. It's like the leadership at Sandisk could care less about service or quality.

I bought a 2 pack
I bought a 2 pack, USB flash drives that (allegedly) were password protected. I have used this type item from many vendors for years. These were just flash drives with an 'Install SanDisk Software' icon. I clicked it thinking (like the other 15 I've used in my life) it would walk through the set up, make a password and a quick intro. Apparently with SanDisk this is not the case. I was sent to a website with 8 different software downloads. OK, which of the 8 is for this SPECIFIC product/ IDK, and neither did the website. OK, I read the info, the only one that mentioned the specific item I bought was actually a recover download. Don't need it because I am unable to use your product. Next I attempted their Chat to be sent to an equally unclear YouTube site. So I sent an email. AN auto reply said we'' get back to you in 48 hours. A few hours later I was informed via email that "A support account has been created for you". Wow, I had a SIMPLE QUESTION, what software is needed for your product that I purchased. I am an hour of wasted time into this and these people think I want or need or am willing to make ANOTHER useless account at a company I will interact with 1 time every 10 or 20 years? I did not nor will it ever happen. I will return this opened package (items unused) to Amazon. Luckily SanDIsk does not need me nor do I need them. I tidbit of actually acting like you had any respect for my time would have gotten this company a customer but apparently they can not be bothered. Great work SanDIsk, I couldn't help notice how low your customer reviews are. Keep up the incompetent work. Update 7/29, SanDIsk answered me from a non-monitored email so I could not reply. The person said, the software is on the drive and does not have to be downloaded. Really? I have been using computers for 30 years. I can actually open the 3 files on the usb drive and check everything to determine the software IS NOT ON THE DRIVE. If I cared I could actually start this process again. I could waste more of my time to get to a place that I am unable to get help or even discuss the problem electronically. Nothing like a company that respects their customers on a level like a dogs poop. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE BOZOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
