SCAM Alert on Kayak! Why on earth Kayak associates themselves with AIRFARE ASSIST, a bunch of scammers?I booked a flight to Tenerife thru Kayak, they send me a flight confirmation, with a reservation code and all, and I thought I was done. It was a return flight, and I did not care much about it, I had the 5 digit reservation code. On my last day of vacation, I tried to check in for my flight... the flight was never paid and booked. I spent the last day of my vacation chatting with the airline, and trying to figure out what happened. It was NEVER paid for, I had no flight, and was forced to purchase a NEW return flight from United. When I came home, I immediately disputed the charge with my credit card, and the next day, I received an email from "Vincent", a rep from AirfareAssist, stating that I need to email back and state I am not disputing the charge. I sent them all the communication with the airline, explaining to them I did not get the ticket. They never came back although I sent them subsequent emails with clear proof the flight was never issued. Stay away from Kayak's 3rd party associates.
Very good flight search engine to compare flight prices from different websites. Lot's of filters available to find the ideal flight. Extra information available like type of aircraft used in the flight you are interested in and more. Recommend it.
Kayak is full of scammers like budget air. Do not use it. Have you noticed that those companies change constantly ? That's because after a short time the word goes out and people realize that they are a scamm
Just heard an interesting account of a Kayak customer's experience with Kayak. He purchased a flight to Madrid from them, paid and received a confirmation email. Turned up at the airport for the flight only to find they'd booked him to fly the following day.My God, its scam after scam.
Bloody horrible company. They jumped in on an easyjet search. I paid for the flight but it failed so they cancelled the transaction. But they refused to give me my money backI have just spent an hour sending various complaints - its not obvious and they don't volunteer real people to sort it out. The chat bot does what chat bots do - blanket no.Don't bother with Kayak, go to a reputable co. They offer nothing, just cause stress and steal your money
I’ve always used KAYAK before too, but my recent experience on 1.12.2026 was very frustrating. I followed a recommendation to book a car via Booking.com, only to have them cancel the reservation a few days later with no explanation. I ended up having to book directly with Enterprise at the last minute. KAYAK needs to be more selective with the third-party sites they promote; a "confirmed" booking shouldn't just disappear without reason.
I had a very frustrating experience with Kayak. The prices shown initially were misleading, and once redirected to third-party sellers, the final cost and conditions were very different from what was advertised. This caused confusion and wasted time.
I booked a rental car in October 2025 through Kayak, which made the booking through Priceline. The actual rental car company was Europcar. When I arrived at the Europcar location to pick up the car, it was out of business. A Europcar employee who happened to be there cleaning out the office told me the location had been permanently closed several weeks earlier and that she had contacted Priceline repeatedly to alert them of the need to rebook the affected bookings, with no reply. I ended up taking a taxi 45 km (at a cost of 77 British pounds) to the nearest open Europcar location, where they were very helpful and honoured my reservation. After my trip I contacted Kayak customer support. They denied all responsibility, saying that I must pursue the issue with Priceline, not with them. So I contacted Priceline customer support, who eventually agreed with me (after much debate) and promised that I would receive a refund of 77 British pounds within 5-10 business days. That was several weeks ago. I have not received any refund. From now on I will avoid third-party aggregators like Kayak and Priceline and try to make bookings directly with the actual vendors from now on!
I never received my money back thank you for screwing me yall suck
Poor customer service. We booked a car in Hawaii during Christmas break and kayak bailed out. Terrible experience, wouldn’t recommend AT ALL
This is NO1 flight search tool. It's so easy to use, and almost equally showing every provider so you have the freedom of choice.I ALWAYS use kayak and it's ALWAYS giving lowest price across all platform.Yes more freedom always comes with more scam. But it's not kayak's fault. If you got scammed by justfly or edreams, it's justfly or edream's fault, it's NOT kayak's fault, NOT google's fault, NOT att's fault, NOT mcdonald's fault. You might say "I won't be scammed if mcdonalds don't sell their burger to justfly", yes good point.
KAYAK is seriously misleading customers. You advertise “best deals” but push users toward unreliable and shady third-party booking companies that end up scamming people.Prices shown on KAYAK are NOT real. Once redirected, customers face hidden fees, fake availability, impossible cancellations, or no customer support at all. When problems happen, KAYAK takes zero responsibility and hides behind “we are just a comparison site.”This is deceptive, unethical, and unacceptable. You are knowingly allowing fake or low-quality agencies on your platform and profiting from customers being misled.People trust KAYAK, and you abuse that trust.I strongly warn everyone: DO NOT book through KAYAK or any third-party they promote. This platform needs investigation and accountability
Shocking company users beware, they have very little if any support and when you make a booking they don't display it in your trips via the APP. I had to call the US today to find my car hire company to cancel and refund only to be told it had to be done via KAYAK - work that one out when they don't even display the booking on there end and no means to cancel?Quick enough to take the money KAYAK - absolute joke so please beware of this site when booking.
Hidden fee!!!! I am highly dissatisfied with a booking made through Kayak. After receiving my initial booked email, the next day, the third-party agent "State" demanded an additional $$$75 fee to finalize the flight, citing a vague "price change."I felt coerced into paying this $$75 to secure my already confirmed travel. This is unacceptable bait-and-switch behavior by a vendor you feature.Their customer service stating they are "just a search engine" is insufficient. I was abandoned after using their service.
I've used Kayak a lot over the years, and it's always been fine since they usually redirect me to the airline's website to book the ticket. However, my wife booked through Kayak for us recently and it directed our purchase through Airfare Assist. Our experience with Airfare Assist was terrible, and I'd recommend you stay away; I have no idea why Kayak continues working with them. Airfare Assist is either incompetent or deliberately misleading folks to try to pocket extra money. We made an error when we booked and put a shortened version of my first name on the ticket. When I contacted Airfare Assist to fix my name, they claimed it would cost over $500 to fix it. I spent several days trying to sort this out with Airfare Assist including having the airline contact them to explain the free name correction policy, but Airfare Assist stubbornly maintained that the airline would charge them a name change fee and the fare difference in order to correct my name. This directly contradicts the posted policy from the airline and the advice I received on the phone from the airline's customer service. Airfare Assist's phone reps were confidently wrong with most of the information they gave me, and they were also very inconsistent with each other.
I booked a refundable one way ticket on Delta.com for me and my wife.I immediately set up a Trip Notification on Kayak to alert me to a price drop. After checking daily for about a month, I received an email this morning from Kayak notifying me of a price drop of $1600 per ticket. I went to Delta.com to verify and utilizing the change option I booked 2 new tickets and received a $3200 refund to my credit card - not an ecredit. Thank you Kayak for this awesome feature on your website/app.
kayak.com promotes fake flights. At least that's what I found when I tried to get a flight from Bangkok to the US. I have photographs to prove it from the site. When I tried to book a flight they were advertising as low as $617.00 one way on Delta, but when I clicked the link I was taken to the Delta website where the lowest price ticket was nearly $2000 abd the highest was over$20,000. That is fraud. Where is the FTC when we need them?
Very poor customer service, their custoer care number is not working. Difficulty in initiating refund. This company is a scam!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!
Always loved using the Kayak app.Today I couldn't find the well used part of the app where you could click SHOW DRIVER.An invaluable part of why we use Kayak. Please re enstatite this or it it just a blip in the system. Thank you.
