I donated $100 to a friend that lost her mom and was struggling financially. I look at my receipt from GoFundMe the next day and see that I was charged $117.50? Huh? The additional $17.50 they took out of my bank account was labeled as a tip. Who would I be tipping? I was not receiving any type of service that would warrant a tip. It’s bad enough that GFM takes a small percentage of the donations, now they’re stealing from donors that are just trying to help friends and family. From now on, I’m asking for the person‘s Zelle information so all the money will go straight to them and I don’t have some company just taking money out of my bank account and calling it a “tip”. Honestly, I would recommend just reaching out to whoever you want to donate to, get their Zelle information instead and donate to them that way, then they will receive 100% of your donation and you don’t have to worry about getting ripped off with these fundraising sites like GoFundMe. I do not recommend donating through this company. If you do donate on GFM just make sure you aren’t unknowingly leaving a fat tip for GFM.
I had a GoFund me for a year and a half for a personal friend in Gaza. I had updates with photos and was successfully getting money to him. It was going well and then my fund was paused. For the first week they asked for information and I answered honestly. Then they did not reply to me for almost 2 months until I sent another message. They accused me of not being transparent about things that I had answered honestly like what the fund was for and who had sent donations. I felt that they did not read my replies, they did not respond to my continued questions and in the end closed the account. They did cite that they don't allow transfer with cryptocurrency, which is the only option in getting money to Gaza. Instead of letting me know this is why my account was closed. They did not communicate anything and then accused me of other infractions also.
There were a lot of steps involved in setting up our page, but once I had all the proper information collected, it took me less than five minutes to do the initial setup. I then shared the links with our team. We posted to social media and our personal channels and everyone who donated found the process very clean, simple, and quick! I encountered some challenges connecting my bank to the system, and I had to reach out for personal help that the chatbots could not support me on. I connected with Christian, who was able to review my account, explain what the error was, and then monitor my account until got corrected documentation uploaded and connected to our bank. Overall, it's been a very positive experience.
I made a donation as I have in the past and this time they added a tip on without my permission. I had to reach out to them to have it removed and was told that the tip is added automatically and you have to manually remove it before donating. I do not think this is right- you should have the option of adding a tip, not be forced to remove one.

I had a hard time transferring the funds to my account. I didn't want to transfer all to my account but it was. And now I think my gofundme is closed and I have only reached 27% of my goal.
The rep was patient and helpful, understood the issues and quickly rectified the problem.

Luis went above and beyond to understand my situation being a warzone we lose our power and internet is weak so I was having issues sending the requested emails and he stuck In and gave me options to resolve our issues.. I started up a GoFundMe me to raise funds for stem cell treatment as I have MS. GoFundMe shut my account down without any warning and I was told the money they was in the account was to be given back to the donators!! I’ve no idea why! I’ve tried numerous times to contact them to no avail!! A stress I don’t need in life! There’s zero customer service, just a very unhelpful AI chat! I’ll be using a different platform for my fundraiser now as I find this SO unprofessional!
They haven't helped me delete my fundraisers. They said they would sixteen days ago and my nine fundraisers are still there.
She worked through issues no one else did. She was excellent and patient.
Excellent experience with GoFundMe raising funds to finance the search for a missing person. Someone personally reached out to provide support over maintaining the page and were always available to help resolve any issues or offer advice. Can't speak highly enough of the support provided at a very difficult time.
It seems that GoFundMe does not have any desire for the person in control of the Fundraiser to be able to track the transactions. There are zero reports available and the user is only able to take screenshots to determine who did what and when. Also, the dates are obfuscated by using a '3d' format instead of a date. Designing a report is always in Week 1 of any programming class. The See All listing is in a random order!
Well I like that they actually were able to get my post posted and so far I don't know I haven't gotten any supporters so we'll see
