Dacor used to be a really great product until the company was purchased by Samsung. Now all warranty decisions and technical support have been re-homed to South Korea. That means you don't hear from anyone for days. Getting a decision on a warranty issue is like pulling teeth. I previously had a Dacor rangetop and loved it. Fast forward to last year, I had purchased an new home and decided to switch out the broken Zline rangetop for a new Dacor rangetop. Fast forward a few months and I notice one of the grids has cracked all the way though. It happens of the grid gets hot and there's a flaw in the metal. No big deal and easy to replace right? It's still under warranty. It has taken an extraordinary amount of time from the wholesaler that sold me the product, the factory approved appliance repair company and Corporate Headquarters - aka as Slooowww Samsung. It's been 10 days, numerous emails and photos traded back and forth and nothing from Samsung. They have yet to say if they will replace my rangetop grid. I even offered to buy a grid and just skip the warranty issue. More pictures were requested and it's been crickets. This is a grid. It shouldn't be this difficult.
A year ago we decided to replace our Samsung refrigerator. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. We just wanted a new one. We was going to move the Samsung to the garage and make that one the back up. (My beer fridge) Went to Best Buy and that's where we learned that Samsung has a high end refrigerator called Dacor. Had never heard of it up until then. We liked it, we bought it, couldn't wait to get it delivered. A few weeks later it was delivered. Out to the garage the Samsung went. Now fast forward about 6 months. We start noticing a bunch of small dents across all 4 doors of the Dacor. Some high end I told my wife! I went out to the garage and tried to fi d a si gle dent on the Samsung, and nothing. Not one dent on it. We called Dacor and they tell us it only comes with a 30 day cosmetic warranty. Go figure. We then start to look at reviews and there they are. Lots of them with dented doors. You would think for a $3500 fridge that it would come with better doors. At least that's what the salesman told us.Now, fast forward a couple of more months and we notice water leaking from under the left crisper drawer. I open the drawer and notice a thin layer of ice forming under it. I peel the ice away and throw away in the sink just to have another layer form again a few days later. So, on the phone with Dacor again. Get an appointment with a local appliance repair center. A few days later they come out and replace a part and it appears to be fixed.Fast forward a month later. Now the freezer is making a horrible noise making ice. After looking in the trays after ice drops, there is some ice cubes and some water in the trays. Here we go again. On the phone with Dacor yet once again. And here comes the same repair place out to our house again to fix the broken fridge. We are 15 months into a 24 month warranty period with our Dacor refrigerator. Something tells me I will be on the phone with Dacor again in the next upcoming months. And when the warranty is up, my Dacor will be at the curb replaced with a different brand fridge!
The Dacor refrigerator supplied by my home builder broke down within a few years. Despite numerous attempts to contact Samsung, the problem remains unresolved. From my experience, customer service does not seem to be a priority for Samsung/Dacor. It appears that their sole focus is to introduce low-quality products into the North American market for profit. I would advise against purchasing from Dacor & Samsung if you value your investment. It is highly recommended to steer clear of Samsung/Dacor products.
I too have Dacor ( actually Samsung) refrigerator. This refrigerator has been a problem from the beginning but I was assured by a Dacor employee I purchased this through that it would always be covered. Well it wasn’t and isnt. Admittedly many techs have come out, many service calls made from Samsung/Dacor and outside companies but this $9,000.00 refrigerator stops making ice, freezes in the refrigerator and leaks on to my floor and the water hits my cabinetry. The Correspondence has been endless numerous photographs sent and ultimately they just stopped responding after promises that were made of further repair or replacement. This has been beyond frustrating but they don’t care. The behavior from the company is so dysfunctional it’s beyond belief. They sent out a special service tech to supposedly fix the ice maker who seemed to only come to my home, call me friend, but ultimately snoop & gather information on the employee i purchased the refrigerator with. I was told this employee was stealing thousands of dollars from Dacor/Samsung…like i said very dysfunctional and I did not appreciate this persons tactics and bringing them into my home. He of course then disappeared. I could very easily say his name but he clearly knows where I live. Again, scary disfunction supported by Samsung I was later told by another tech from another company who came out but also could not fix the issues. I have given up which is what I believe they ultimately wanted. I Will continue to mop up the water, make my own ice cubes with a tray, sometimes hear ice being made, move things around in the fridge that are frozen and look for a Subzero refrigerator to replace this one that will be moved to the garage where it can’t do damage in all its $9,000 glory.
Branded as a high luxury Appliance but after spending 25,000$ on our column refrigerator - it breaks in 2 years and not cooling. It has been three weeks and still not heard from anyone as to how this will get fixed. Every customer care representative gives us the run around. If you have the money- spend it on thermador or subzero. DO NOT BUY DACOR!!!
