Nightmare at Sleep Inn
I had the absolute worst experience I've ever had a hotel /motel here. I found bed bugs in the bed full of blood. I called the front desk and reported it. The worker Kendall at the front desk was very unconcerned and nonchalant. She stated the manager wouldn't be in until 8am.She moved us to another room, we checked this room for bed bugs and other problems, room didn't have a remote. After letting her know she changed our room yet again. The third and final room's WIFI didn't work. We spent all night moving from room to room. I called Choice Hotels customer service line where I made the reservation- they spoke with empathy but basically said there was nothing they could do-talk to the manager. I called at 8am, was told the manager wasn't in and wouldn't be in. I told the front desk clerk Dorris that our room had bed bugs and she emphatically stated "Oh no we don't have bed bugs, love bugs maybe but not bed bugs!" She proceeded to yell and be extremely rude on the phone. I couldn't believe it, I felt that surely someone was about to jump out the closet and say -You've officially been punked! I requested to speak to the manager who never spoke to me but informed Dorris that I could be refunded 15% of my total reservation. I checked out of the hotel and went to the Hampton up the hill. I will never stay at any Sleep Inn or any other Choice Hotel.

Worst Hotel Group
They do not even deserve 1 star. I stayed at one of their hotels in Sydney for 10 days. I have the tax receipt to confirm my stay and that they should be transferring my points to my QF account. It's been over 4 months now and they have not transferred my points. I have been chasing Choice Hotels up on a weekly basis. They have completely ignored my emails. When I call their helpline, they hang up on me. Their failure to transfer my points to my QF account has resulted in me losing nearly 500K QF points. I have contacted and filed complaints with ACCC and NSW Fair Trade. Do not use Choice Hotels. They have no respect for customers and they totally betray the essence of what hospitality and customer service should be all about. Shame on Choice Hotels.

Bait and Switch
Booked a night at the Abitta Boutique hotel, Ascend Collection on choice hotels website February 17,2025 for stay on January 16, 2026. When we got there to find out it was not a Choice hotel property. We were put in the hotel next door, not what was pictured on the Choice Hotel website. The room was disgusting, dark and dingy with a broken window shade, safe, dresser draw and not even enough light to read . When I contacted Choice Hotels I was told they dropped the property July 1, 2025 and Basicly did not care about this bait and switch. And refuse to take responsibility for this situation. Do not trust Choice Hotels Reservations

Don't expect to talk to anyone with customer service training
Country Inn Suites Hotels - PortlandWe stayed at the hotel while travelling over the holidays. My wife left her glasses in the room. She did not realize this until we had reached our next destination. She called the hotel and they confirmed they had the glasses. She asked if she could arrange for, and pay for, a courier to have them sent to her. They said no. She asked if she could speak to a manager. The clerk took her number and promised a call back. It never happened. When we got home we called the international customer service. They took down all the information and told us to follow up in a couple of weeks. We did. The follow up was greeted with "we haven't received a response from the hotel call back later."Up the food chain to a supervisor. The supervisor explained that their hands were tied. It was entirely up to the individual hotels to look after customers.I told her I was hearing "suck it up and forget the glasses." She told me these were not the words she would use, but there was nothing she could do about it. I've never experienced such poor customer service, at the local level, especially not at the corporate level.Stay clear, and definitely don't expect to speak to someone trained in customer service.

We have been flooded out of our…
We have been flooded out of our apartment since December 28,2025. We have been staying at a local hotel (Rodeway Hotel) Stratford. We have now been told that they can no longer allow us to stay as we have exceeded the days allowed. WHAT???? We have an a new apartment that we can move into February 13,2026. You can’t accommodate us for 14 more days, not like the place is booked up. Isn’t money, money? Trust me, we don’t want to be living in a hotel for this long either. What happened to good people. What has this world come to. No one cares. It’s a sad world we live in. Do better. If you would like to talk about this or rectify it I look forward to hearing from you.

I've been in a choice member for over…
I've been in a choice member for over 7 years now. I can honestly say I've never been so disappointed in a rewards program. I used to receive a $5 gift card every time I would stay at one of their hotels. Since their update to the program, I received one $5 gift card over 20 nights, where before I would have received four! How extremely disappointing! If I were you I would find another rewards program to join with a different hotel chain because this one is definitely not worth it.

Bed Bugs
Me and my son was staying the weekend but it ended in 1 day because me & my son was getting bit by bedbugs while we was sleep and when we woke up it was bites all over him and my back. Had to go to hospital to get checked out. This was the worst experience i ever had at a hotel. I lost expensive clothing due to this issue. Me & my son been having sleeping problems just feel like the bugs still on me.

Why you need to watch your pocketbook
Seltzer group partners Insurance : where keystone agency partners, and now bain capital credit and warburg pincus they are NOT what you might think , they are a large Insurance group which is owned by the private equity companies above. They were owned by independent owners but are now a group that has lost the personal service , they don't even do the insurance estimates at there local offices ,don't even take your insurance payments it's beneath them now no personal service just send your money directly to the insurance company .They seam to just sell policies . Did you know that insurance agencies get commission, and if you stay with the same insurance company the next year they get even more money if they keep your policy with that insurance company . For them to look at other companies for you they wouldn't get the retention bonus. So you should ALWAYS look at insurance rates each and EVERY YEAR you just might find lower rates with another . Insurance company . Insurance companies ONLY care about profits and not your pocketbook.

I was ripped off..
I was ripped off... I paid online for one night, when I got to the hotel I was charged again, at this point I was too tired to realize what had happened. Later I sent proof of the double payment and I was given some pathetic excuse.

Zero stars if I could
Zero stars if I could. Choice Hotels were my choice back when I was traveling a lot for work. But now post pandemic and several hurricanes later these places are cesspools of corporate greed. What used to be an excellent chain has become poorly staffed, with reduced amenities, unpublished "fees", and sketchy clientele. One location in NC actually had a sign at the front desk reading "no refunds after 10 minutes from check in". The room looked clean, but had an offensive smell of mold and mildew. The exterior trashcans were overflowing with fast food trash, empty beer cans, and dirty diapers. There were security cameras everywhere, and the front desk dude watched everything he could on them. He would literally come running out the office and confront you if you went for a walk around the building. "What are you doing? Why are you out here? What? What? What?" Raccoons also scatter the overflowing trash cans, making the trash problems worse. My advise? Avoid. Book elsewhere.

Horrible Customer Support
Booked one of their hotels, and they refused to help with a horrible situation. They kept saying I needed to work with the outside booking party and they couldn't be of help. The hotel refused to check us out when we asked, we were lied to repeatedly and had a horrible experience. When we asked Choice Hotels where to file the complaint on their hotel and the management they refused to help. They did not care we asked to check out 3 times and we were still not checked out. They kept saying talk to the booking engine or the hotel, who is who we were trying to file a complaint against. They were unhelpful and unsupportive. I will NEVER book another one of their hotels.

The Worst in my Experience
I encountered lying, was cheated out of my money and experienced a total lack of integrity from the staff and mostly from the so-called manager, Nataly Benegas. The supposed to be provided Wi-Fi was spotty at best and nonexistent much too often. I needed it and the lack of it ruined my stay. I checked out a day early for that reason and expected a refund because the advertised services were not provided. The manager could not be reached on the weekend and either she was lied to about the Wi-Fi availability, or she lied to the people I spoke to and used it as a reason to deny my refund (cheated me). The person I spoke to said Ms. Benegas was in a meeting (I have my doubts) and would get back to me if I left a message. She never returned my call, showing a total lack of integrity for someone in the customer service industry. Be warned - stay at this disreputable place at your own peril. I also sent an email to the Comfort Inn corporate headquarters about this incident, and they did not have the common courtesy to respond either. STAY AWAY! Use their competitors.

Scam promotions
Scam advertising I cashed in all my points for two $50 gift cards supposed to get them in 2 to 4 weeks. It’s been eight weeks. I called customer service. They said they were delivered. No, they were never delivered. I never got these gift cards and they will not Issue a refund. I literally use their apps for the promotion. I will never use their apps again besides the hotels for Garbage

Choice points expire!!!!
EXPIRING POINTS - Choice sent me a message saying you will be cancelling my points. In Canada, that is illegal, and since you have hotels in both countries, points should not be cancelled. This cancellation deeply affects my loyalty and trust in your brand. If Choice proceeds with this, I will no longer stay at any of your brand hotels in the future. There is no way on the Choice site to communicate Points Issues with them without referencing a specific stay. Not a company that wants to serve its customers? If they take away our points, we will also inform my friends and family about Choice's poor business decision.

Room clean and bed comfortable
Room good; breakfast not so much…Room clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was pitiful-waited 20 mins to get coffee then another 20 minutes to get bacon at 9a on a Sunday morning. Bins for warm biscuits and the sausage gravy were empty and not refilled during this time period.

You Wont Find A Worse Place To Stay Than This.
The booking agency comes across as though they represent quality accommodation providers. Nothing could be further from the truth. The fleabag motel i booked through them was call roadway inn on Sweetwater Rd in Phoenix. Despite having booked two nights, i left the room after 3 hours. No hot water, the toilet overflowed on the first use. The only light fixture was a lamp with no shade and the bare bulb had to be balanced in the socket to work. The bed spreads were soiled and disgusting. There were two worn out towels provided. I called the desk the next morning to advise that i expected a refund. The clerk said the manager would resolve it by days end. I called chioce customer service demanding a refund. They asked that i wait 1 day to allow the motel to process the refund, or they would resolve it. Their idea of resolution was to contact the motel manager to see if he would resolve it. What a joke and a waste of fair business dealing. I shouldn’t have been as polite as is was.Fortunately i used a visa card for payment and a charge back is just a call away. My recommendation is to avoid any of the properties listed by choice, as they are likely all the same caliber.
