We flew from London Heathrow via Miami…

We flew from London Heathrow via Miami to Guatemala City on Feb 1st . Our hold luggage was lost in Miami (along with many others) and reported in Guatemala . Communication from AA was appalling (just left hanging on the phone for an hour each time we called the “helpline” (sic ) number) and the online chatbot provided no updates. eventually two days later we spoke to a human who advised us “ well if you’re not at the hotel to receive them you will have to come to the airport to collect them” Two hour delay on the way home “to change a tyre.” Many folk missed their interconnecting flight as a result of the delay and the slow immigration controls And this from supposedly the “world’s leading country.”Miami airport is an out of date “ toilet”BTW -fly to other airports if you can.Third world airline service

Horrible service

At the exact time my plane was supposed to board they delayed the flight over 10 hrs. The whole staff and customer service was rude unfriendly and didn’t try to help anyone. They basically said there is nothing you can do about it. They were awful. Their own pilots sat near me and were talking about how bad the airline is. I give them zero stars. They ruined what should have been a beautiful weekend with my wife. They are creating very bad karma when they treat their customers like this. Don’t fly with them. You will regret it. I definitely did.

Evil Airline with abominable service

American Airlines forced me to check my bag at the gate, and when I arrived at my destination didn't bother to get it to the baggage claim for an hour and a half. I had to take a $73 Uber ride home because I didn't get my bag until 1:00 am and my wife was home with our two little kids on a school night. I asked them to refund my Uber trip and they refused. Companies I would fly with instead of them: Delta, United, Spirit, Southwest, the Taliban, ISIS, the Empire, Crimson Dawn, Cobra Command, Death Watch, the League of Shadows, the Foot Clan, the Borg ,the Black Order and Hydra.

Flight delayed all day then cancelled

Our flight was delayed multiple times and then cancelled due to lack of flight attendants. We scrambled and booked a Delta flight for the next morning (had a cruise ship to catch). When we went to retrieve our luggage, it wasn't waiting on a carousel; that would have made too much sense. So we stood in line for over 2 hours only to be told it would be down soon (this was at 1030PM); at 5AM we still did not have all of our luggage. We did make it to the cruise ship and our luggage was sitting in San Diego when we arrived. We lost the evening & hotel that we had booked in San Diego and were up for almost 40 hours; all because of AA staffing failures.

I'm never flying American again

I'm never flying American again! I have been delayed and cancelled for the past three trips I've taken. American is never on time, always has archaic aircrafts, and for some reason they never seem to credit you that much back for travel inconveniences. Fly United instead.

I would have gave zero stars but that's not an option American Airlines sucks I will never fly with them ever again this is the second time I booked a flight and they canceled this time they booked my flight switched the day got another email switched it again and it got another email switched it again I had to pay $400 and had to book with Delta

I had a good experience with America…

I had a good experience with America airlines travelling to and from Heathrow to Costa Rica and back. The flights were on time, we had good notifications, we got drinks brought around a fair amount and the food was ok, you can’t expect a lot for airplane food, the vegan meal was bland but it was edible. They had a good selection of films, but the kids wished there was interactive games!I would be happy travelling with them again!

Last-Minute Downgrade

I am writing to formally document a serious service failure that occurred during my recent trip, which was intended to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. What should have been a meaningful and memorable experience instead became stressful and disappointing due to the handling of our seating arrangements.Six minutes before boarding, my confirmed seat was involuntarily downgraded without warning. I had specifically paid a premium fare—nearly $6,000 for this trip—so that my wife and I could sit together for this special occasion. Instead, we were separated at the last possible moment, and a complete stranger was placed next to her. This was not only upsetting, but also completely avoidable.At the gate, I was told that my seat had been reassassigned to accommodate a training captain. However, once onboard, the person occupying my original seat was not the individual I was told about. This inconsistency raises serious concerns about transparency, accuracy, and customer care.The situation was handled in a rushed and dismissive manner. No proactive effort was made to resolve the issue, offer meaningful alternatives, or acknowledge the significance of the occasion. The experience left both of us feeling undervalued as customers and undermined our confidence in American Airlines.While I have since been offered a $500 credit, this does not adequately reflect the premium fare paid, the involuntary downgrade, the separation from my spouse, or the emotional impact of disrupting a milestone birthday celebration.I am requesting:A full explanation of why this reassignment occurred.A review of the incorrect information provided at the gate.A reassessment of the compensation offered, taking into account the value of the ticket and the circumstances.Assurance that this type of situation will be addressed to prevent similar experiences for other customers.I would prefer to resolve this matter directly and professionally. However, I am prepared to escalate the issue if necessary. I look forward to your prompt response and a fair resolution.Thank you for your great customer service to Pablo and Britney for making a horrible experience a little easier to digest. Do NOT book on American airlines

Do NOT book on American airlines. Hands down the worst airlines. I have ever flown. My flight from Costa Rica to Tampa FL which should have taken 5 1/2 hours with a connection, instead took 32 hours due to their delays and flight changes. They have total disregard for the passengers needs and schedules. I will never use them again, nor should you.

Abandoned at closed airport

Very disappointed with entire booking. We booked a first class ticket last April on an overnight flight with lay-down seats. That flight was cancelled. We were only offered this flight without the laydown seats with no fare reduction. Upon arriving at the airport, our flight was not listed on the departures. Gate was labelled witi a Delta banner and a Hawaiian logo. Plane had no on-board video. Flight was scheduled to take off at 10, finally delayed at midnight until 6PM the next day. . We were taken off the plane, told we would not be offered hotel or transportation, and that if we book our own, there was no guarantee that we would be reimbursed. We were given meal vouchers but the airport and restaurants were now closed. We hadn't eaten expecting a meal on the flight. Basically our only option was to spend the night in the gate area or venture out on our own at 1AM, tired and hungry. Most passengers had been on vacation and returned their rental cars before coming to the airport and had no transportation available. What little direction we received about next steps and luggage was conflicting. When the airport opened, there was no AA personnel anywhere until 3PM to assist. When we finally got on the flight at 6PM, we were delayed another 2 hours on the tarmac because weight and balance data had not been delivered. Poor service for any booking, but absolutely unacceptable for first-class.

Your ticket is not a ticket!

We bought tickets months ago for a vacation. When we tried to check in,as soon as it opened up online we could not see a seat. At the first airport, Miami, they told us we had to get our seats when we got to Philly. We had a 3 hour lay over so just wanted to know if we'd have seats. We could drive home in 4 hours so to wait 3 hours to find out seemed silly but they refused to answer until an hour v or half hour before. The guy was SO RUDE! he literally said- " I'm not answering that". We asked to speak to a manager and he said he was the manager but also said he would not give us his name. My husband tried to speak to him calmly but he yelled at us and told us to sit down. He was working on a flight and my husband asked if he was done or he wait and he got security and said we were bothering him while he vwas trying to do his job. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever experienced. He at one point slipped and told us he couldn't answer us because the flight was over booked. We are still waiting for an answer 2 hours later. The two women at the F39 customer service desk were lovely and tried to be helpful. It took another hour to talk to a manager because they had overbooked several flights and that poor guy was putting out fires every where. I fly several times a year and I've never had this problem or been treated so rudely.lesson learned. Don't fly American!

Took a family trip

Took a family trip. Departed SGU on American Airlines on Monday. After boarding the plane, they kept us waiting for two hours for a 5 minute fix by a mechanic inside the aircraft cabin for the crew. Five days later, I’m in PHX on my way home to SGU when they delay my 11:00 PM flight 3x and then cancel the flight. Then proceed to tell us they have no hotel rooms, but the flight will go at 6:30 in the morning so see you then. American Airlines is a joke!

I would give a zero star review if I could. I have a service animal in a bag and have been delayed 5 times today. I will NEVER book with American Airlines again. They’ve done absolutely nothing to refund my flight or move us to another flight out. The entire staff has said there’s nothing they can do, which I believe because of the incompetent employees.

Mileage expire after 2 years

Nice dependable airline of the big 3 airlines. However what I do not like is our AAdvantage miles expire if there is no activity for 24 months... unlike the policy of other 2 big airlines!

Garbage Airline

One star because the company is either shady or don't give a sh** their website is complete unusable garbage. Trying to buy a ticket. It won't allow me to pay without upgrading my seat. Absolutely cannot proceed. Now I have to wait for thirty minutes for a rep to call me back so I can book over the phone. You're a multi-million dollar company, hire more frigging people. Absolutely horrible airline.

Paid for two first class tickets flight…

Paid for two first class tickets flight aa2142 Seattle to Miami. Cramped seat , no food or beverages on a 6 hour flight in first class! And stewardesses slept the whole way. Nice work if you can get .
