doubled my monthly rent after 2 months

They doubled my monthly rent after having my unit only 2 months. There are rodent traps in the units. They have only 1 cart available for each floor so if one person is using the cart you're waiting until they are finished or carrying your boxes to your unit. The bathrooms are permanently bolted shut so better to go before leaving home because there's no access. The Manager is nasty, customer service is usually nonexistent but if you manage to talk to a rep they're not helpful at all. I was out of state hospitalized one day late & they refused to remove late fee & threatened a lockout.. Real sweet of them and the fact that when you get to one of their facilities there's no human only a video screen! Now if that's not an indication of numerous altercations with customers what is? If you don't have high blood pressure when you get there, you surely will be on meds before you leave! There's too many storage facilities in every area to put up with this kind of abuse. Go elsewhere, you'll be happy you did

Introductory Price Trap – $40 Storage Unit Became $101

I rented a storage unit with Public Storage after downsizing from a house to a condo. The advertised rate was about $40 per month, which seemed reasonable compared to other facilities in the area. The sign-up process was quick. At the counter you are handed a digital signature pad and asked to sign, and like most people you trust the employee and move on rather than standing there reading a long contract with fine print.A couple of months later the rent increased. Then it increased again. Eventually the $40 unit became $101 per month. When I called to ask about the increases, the explanation was always the same:“It’s in the contract. We can raise the rent whenever we want.”By that time your belongings are already in the unit, and moving everything again requires time, a truck, and a lot of effort — something many working people simply cannot do immediately. At one point someone from Public Storage corporate contacted me after seeing my online review and mentioned a credit adjustment, but that credit never appeared. The main lesson I learned is this:The introductory price is not the real long-term price. If you are considering Public Storage, make sure you understand how the pricing structure works before moving your belongings in.#PublicStorage #ConsumerWarning #BuyerBeware #CustomerExperience #PriceIncrease #FinePrint #KnowBeforeYouSign

Lack of appreciation for your business/pain in the ass

Do not use this facility- they treat their customers as if the customer works for them, instead of being grateful for your business. I have been storing my boat there for 3 months, and it is another issue with them every month. First the complained that my boat _Was in another space: I went over there, and sure enough, my boat was infringing on another space-2 inches! I hooked up and moved the boat, and wasted an hour of my life on these idiots. Now they are telling me I need to come move my boat to another space, because they want to work on the lot behind my parking space. When I did not immediately jump to follow their orders, they emailed me that my boat was in bad shape and they would charge me another $50 a month. My bat and trailer are both in perfect condition, I checked. They are not worth the time or trouble- go elsewhere.

Scam company. Do not recommend.

When I first rented my unit, I was told the rent would be around $90 per month, but the price kept increasing, often more than once a year. Within two years the rent had risen to $245 a month, which is a massive increase for the exact same unit with no added value or improvements. What was most disappointing was the lack of consideration for customers on fixed incomes or with disabilities. When I explained my situation and asked if anything could be done, the only suggestion they offered was that I should move to a different unit, which isn’t a practical solution when you already have a unit full of belongings. The constant price increases make it feel like the advertised rates are just a way to get customers in the door before raising prices repeatedly. If you choose to rent here, be prepared for the cost to increase significantly over time.

Major Bait and Switch

Major Bait and Switch! I was given a rate and promised it would be locked in, then a 50% increase! Lies deceit, play the recording of the lies, your recording of our conversation. I moved based on your lies and made my decisions based on false statements by your false representations. F- Waste of my time and money.

Becky is great

I've been a customer for about 10 years. A good customer. Mostly felt that the Public Storage in Highland Village did not appreciate me or my business. That is until Becky took over. If she's not the manager she SHOULD BE! She cuts through the red tape so prevalent with Pub.Storage policy. Becky understands Customer Service. She is a joy to do business with.I sure will miss her when she gets promoted to district manager because I'm sure she is highly promotable.

Customer service representative

I want to leave a good review for Alexander who works at Public Storage on Trinity Mills in Dallas I came in yesterday to get my storage and I had a problem with the lock on my storage door and he helped me solve it He went Far and Beyond what he was expected He was very friendly, polite and accommodating I feel he's a very good worker and he deserves a raise he probably works more diligently than a lot of the workers there and I do want to make sure that they know that about him I honestly feel he deserves a raise for all his hard work Whenever I call Public Storage he always talks very polite to me I feel he values my business

I did paying huge higher amounts of…

I did paying huge higher amounts of money since the year in 2021 I was renting to this dumb company for the purpose of keeping my own belongings plus trying my very best as well to paying less money every single moment when they were deciding on racing the amount of money. But neither the least I was not enough for them until I was facing difficulties with paying them in the past few days. I did have a lot of equipment from tools, hobbies, furniture and personal items. That this people turned their back up against myself after being paid big huge amounts of money since the year 2021. Now 2026 February this dumb company just reaping me out from my own belongings by putting the unit on auction for just few trash dollars that they don’t need for doing such matter just because they have more of greedy pettiness abusing towards others that are vulnerable in several financial money problems like myself. That I’m basically I’m seeing them stealing from my own belongings for their own greediness pettiness selfishness foolishness for their own self esteem and pride for desperate money at the end by stealing from my own belongings for the manner of the fact truth from their own self interest trash attitude behavior towards innocent customers like myself that deserves full accountability for the years rented for what the heck hell out of meaning having to depend upon such crazy company for nothing else good.

Just want to give a shout out to Jaime at the Midvale UT location. We had a couple little bumps initially, but Jaime went out of her way to help us and smooth our way. I would recommend storage at her location to anyone!😊

Advertised unit pricing is a scam.

Advertised unit pricing is short term. At periodic intervals, company makes large increases in price. They do not show actual prices and it appears there is no end to the increases until you move out.

Rented a 10x15

Rented a 10x15. advertised roll up door. Unit had only walk in door which would not work. When tried to move in and discovered, no way to contact property management and get another unit. The rental process involves foreign agents, is very cumbersome and lengthy. Total resign wreck. Will avoid them at all costs in the future.

All you get from this company is a bill and lots of lies!

My unit has been blocked by snow for 4 weeks. Management claims it will be taken care of 3 times but nothing has been done.

Customer service

Due to family health issues I was unable to clear out my unit on the 31st of January but was able to on the following day Feb 1st. I understand my contract and was on the hook for the entire month by that time even though it was used only for 1 day. I contacted them to see if they could give me a bit of relief due to the circumstances. I have been a long-time customer of theirs in multiple states and have always been happy, rent has gotten a bit high though. Initially talked with someone who's English was not their primary, I had to ask them to repeat several times and when asked to speak to a supervision they became indignant and after multiple request final conceded and sent me to a supervisor. The supervision said they would talk to a regional manager to see what could be done. No response, called two weeks later and asked for any updates and was told if you don't hear anything then nothing will be done. I do know that going forward I will not be using PS for any future needs. Forget the $468.00 rent, for 1 day, all I needed was a return call to update my situation.

I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Public Storage in Dallas. On January 23rd and 24th, we had a severe snowstorm. Because of the weather, it was not safe to move my belongings on the 24th and 25th. I also work two jobs and return home at 9:30 PM every day, which made it even more difficult to reschedule immediately. My move-out date was January 31st. I respectfully asked the sales associate if I could have just one extra day, until February 1st, to complete my move due to the snowstorm. I was told that if I moved out on February 1st, I would be charged for the entire month. I asked to speak with the Manager or District Manager, hoping for some understanding. Unfortunately, I received the same response — no flexibility, and I would still be charged for a full month.I previously rented with Extra Space Storage in Weatherford, and they provided a five-day grace period even when the weather was clear and sunny. That experience showed consideration for customers. At this location, I felt that customer service was not a priority. There was no empathy or willingness to help during a difficult situation. The staff was not friendly or understanding. When a customer is facing bad weather and personal challenges, there should be some level of flexibility and basic courtesy. This experience has been very frustrating and disappointing. I hope management seriously reviews how they treat their customers in situations like this.

Unsafe facility in Port St Lucie FL

I recently rented a storage unit at the Port St. Lucie location, and unfortunately my experience left me feeling very unsafe and extremely disappointed.A few days after securing the unit, I moved my belongings in after dark. My unit is on the third floor, and I had multiple trips to unload my van. During that time, I repeatedly encountered a man wandering throughout the building. He was moving between floors and elevators, not carrying anything, and appeared to simply be roaming. Each time we crossed paths, he stared intensely and made me very uncomfortable. At one point, I saw him exiting the women’s restroom, even though the men’s restroom was clearly unoccupied. This added to my concern. For a period of time, he and I were the only people in the building, which felt extremely unsettling.I’ve rented storage units for over 20 years and have never experienced anything like this. Typically, people are there briefly to load or unload items — not wandering around aimlessly after dark. Two days later, I went to the front office to report what happened. Derek and Tim identified themselves as property managers. When I described the individual, Derek immediately knew who I meant and told me he has 24/7 access and is a long-term “resident.” I found that response confusing and concerning, given that this is a storage facility, not a residential property. What troubled me most was how my safety concern was handled. Derek was dismissive, argumentative, and spoke to me in a condescending tone. He did not apologize or acknowledge my discomfort. When I asked about transferring to a first-floor unit for safety reasons, he was again dismissive and unwilling to help or provide any alternatives.Customer safety concerns should be taken seriously, and professionalism from management should be the standard — not the exception. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.Women especially should use caution when visiting this location after dark and consider bringing someone with them.Overall, this was a very disappointing and unacceptable experience
