If I could give this company 0 stars I would. In fact, if there were a negative stars option (perhaps 3 piles of dog poo) I would give them that. Race insurance that "doesn't cover" race cancellation is totally useless. They will only pay out if something happens to you that is so bad you will have forgotten all about the race entry fee anyway. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE THROUGH RACE ROSTER, IT IS A SCAM.
Beware, total scam, goes under many names, probably runs multiple scams. One of them is to imitate a hotel website for booking, then offers "refund insurance". I'm an experienced traveler, have stayed at many hotels and i don't usually get charged until I get there. This company takes your $ as soon as you book.. If things change and you need to cancel it's usually not a big deal unless it's less than 24 hours before check in. However, with requestmyrefund.com (another name for this company) makes it difficult if not impossible to get a refund. Make sure you call the hotel you want to stay in directly to make reservations.
They get zero stars. I cancelled a trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin and I am fighting to get a full refund. I've sent documentation from my doctor showing why I had to cancel, and then I was asked to provide my bank account info to get my REFUND!!!! SCAM!

Don't bother, paid for ticket insurance and then when concert was cancelled I couldn't get a refund. What a Scam!
I paid for refund protection for a half marathon. I got very sick before the race with a virus that went through our entire family (6 of us). Since it was a virus, there was nothing a doctor could have done to help, so we rode it out. They are not refunding me because I did not go to the doctor and I am livid.
Don't remember ever buying this Insurance. Booked a room from the parking lot of the hotel supposedly through an Expedia Affiliate, so why would I need this insurance. The room cost was $139.00 a night and my bill was $227.29. Shouldn't have been that much even with the tax. Somehow I didn't even get a receipt, only a charge on my debit card. Then I get an email from Protecht about my refund protection which I didn't purchase. Total SCAM. Now I can't even find a number to call to complain. I'm afraid to use any of the links in the email for fear that my account will get hacked. Don't know what to do.
Awful company. Don't buy the insurance. I had a family member have a stroke the night i was supposed to go to a wedding, and after providing my case and records, they refuse to give me my money back. Unbelievable that a company acts this way when times are already tough. Terrible company and service too, good luck talking to someone and not getting an automated message back
It's a scam. You have to provide "proof" of circumstances to be eligible for a refund.
Total scam company. Booked a race through Race Roster, and took the added insurance. Ruptured my ACL in my knee, had surgery, and despite showing them all the medical certificates, they still won’t refund. Never gonna touch Protecht Insurance or Fanshield ever again. I feel for Race Roster as they run a good gig - they need to dump Protecht otherwise people will go elsewhere.
This company is a complete scam. They refused to answer any emails or calls I have put in. I tore my meniscus and am not able to complete a race. They guaranteed a refund without a problem and now refuse to help.
In a nutshell, when I tried to check in at the hotel, they told me what I prepaid through Protecht didn't go through. I had to pay for the stay all over again. It took more than 1 1/2 months go get this resolved after calling them every few weeks waiting for it to be credited on my card. Make sure you always talk directly to the hotel rather than going through this company. If I would have waited to pay my card bill, I would have been charge a lot in late fees and interest since this really began in May when I made the reservation. When making the reservation, I had no idea I was going through this company.
Booked hotel through this site by accident. Canceled reservation immediately but I still had to request a refund. Totally a fraud. I’m trying to see the status of my refund and I can’t even get onto their site. DO NOT USE they are a fraud
Booked a Hotel room through a link sent by a soccer tournament organizer. I was signed up for a Protection plan without even realizing it. Can't attend tournament due to injury and am NOW am dealing with their garbage refund process. As clear a scam process as I have ever seen.
booked a room and had no warning this coverage would be added on. the email with the link to cancel the coverage didnt work - their phone tree is impossible to navigate
We experienced all the negative points already listed. They were not transparent in anyway and have been completely disingenuous in the interactions we have had with them.
This company is a joke, and I cannot believe that hotels and booking company use them. I have not been able to get in touch with anyone about my refund. I need help with filling stuff out and no one will help me. Please I just want my money back.
This appears to be a scam company. Period. Do not have any dealings with this company. Will take your money and provide nothing in return, even if you purchase the extra insurance. They want police reports, hospital and Dr. reports before they will consider a refund. Will be very wary of this company in the future.
This company deserves a ZERO RATING..I Purchased fiesta six flags, tickets, handicap parking, drink cups 2, flash pass, $ 464.35 not including insurance protection plan.. what protection I ask? on June 17th,2024 to be used on July 13th, 2024. Due to hurricane BERYL ..WE decided to cancel because a big pine tree in my back yard fell on power lines...hit my neighbors shed, and back porch..my neighbors..not my house. So due to the situation we thought the right thing to do was to stay and help out and clean up a Hugh mess at.our expense...insurance said it ( WAS ACT OF GOD) SO NO CLAIM WAS TO BE FILED. NO CLAIM. WE CANCELED WITH FANSHIELD ON JULY 9TH 2024. SAYS WOULD GET A CALL BACK IN 3 DAYS . TODAY IS JULY 19TH, ***NO CALL BACK YET. JUST E'MAILS REPEATING THE SAME INFORMATION OVER AND OVER. BUT I DID RECIEVE CASE # 16522,17299,17344,17455,17454,17442,17440,17439,17619 AND 17620 10 CASE NUMBERS NOW. EVERYTUME YOU E-MAIL FANSHIELD OR PROTECHT YOU GET A CASE NUMBER. SO I WOULD THINK SOMEONE THERE HAS SOME COMMON SENSE ? STILL NO RESPONSE BY AN AGENT?
