Unpleasant experience

I contacted Vivian Marsh to order some irises. I had read a review that suggested he offers no guarantee on his plants so I thought I'd check. He wouldn't answer my question then was rather rude about the person who wrote the review, and then suggested that I knew her ! All rather strange but it appears that the plants are not good, there is no guarantee and that he himself is rather unpleasant. I found another company that was happy to offer replacements if my irises should not succeed.

No guarantee

Viv Marsh operates postalplants.co.uk in Shropshire. Alstromerias do well in my garden and in the neighbour's so I bought 11 plants from Viv. £13 each. Not cheap. Should expect quality, right? No. In the first season, 5 thrived, 4 were really poor and 2 died. Once he's through offering advice on what YOU are doing wrong, he won't offer replacements, not even for the dead ones. No guarantee he says. Should have dug in a wheelbarrow full of compost for each plant he says. Yeah right. Really practical advice Viv, and a little late after the event. I'll stick to my local garden centre - they don't have a huge variety but £7 each and twice the size and actually better quality, i.e. stronger specimens. Still, he has £130 of my money so I don't think he cares really.
