Terrible taste!
The quality already prepared meals is very bad. They are bland, vegan options do not have enough protein or calories, fish options- smell very fishy, dry as a cardboard. Chicken dishes have no flavor. Also, veggies have the smell of a serious freezer burn. I called customer service and asked how Martha Stewart approved these. Oh, she is no longer associated with this company. Also, good luck with cancellations. Because we did not cancel the same day the box of food arrived, we have to get another box of it and pay for it too. It is ridiculous. Stay away from this company.

THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE WRONG BOX
-their site isn't the easiest to navigate -i asked for vegan, low calorie, etc. i realized the box that WAS GOING TO BE SHIPPED, wasn't what I had requested. it had meat in it. i called to tell them they were GOING TO SHIP the wrong box, but i was told i couldn't have all of what i wanted, it was low cal, so that was good enough. i told them not to ship it, because i wouldn't eat it and i would throw it away. i was told no, they were shipping it anyway. i asked them to refund my money for that box, since i wouldn't eat it, I was told no!

Horrible customer service but in the end they made it right
Mixed bag on recipes - some are totally forgettable, some are delicious. Quality of ingredients varies widely. My last box had THREE rotten ingredients, and was missing an ingredient and recipe cards. Every order had minor issues but I considered this major. I tried to contact them immediately but guess what? They don't work weekends and don't have ANYONE cover for customer service. I asked for a FedEx label to return the box but when I finally spoke to someone, they more or less said tough luck, here's a few bucks refund, and washed their hands of the whole matter. HORRIBLE customer service. I cancelled the service, then got a form letter email from the CEO, asking for feedback, which I happily provided. The CEO (or her admin) didn't even bother to reply.I've contested the charge with my credit card company and of course cancelled my service. I will note that I tried them once before and the exact - EXACT - same thing happened. They don't give two flips whether their customers are satisfied or not. I recommend you steer clear of this shady company.UPDATE 2/13/26 - in reference to the response from Marley Spoon published here, I have two questions - 1) why wasn't this matter of any importance to Marley before I posted this review? 2) as stated, I responded to a form email from the CEO. Odd that they care sooooo much but she couldn't take the time to respond to feedback SHE SOLICITED. This is a common practice amongst shady companies - they'll post a response to a negative review that, on the face of it, looks like they really are concerned and want to make things right. However, given multiple chances (out of the public eye) to make things right, they won't even respond.Don't be fooled, folks. I will respond to their customer service, as they requested, and see what happens. Further update to come.UPDATE 2/18/26 - I'm happy to report that MS has credited my account for the hosed-up box. Shame that I had to raise such a stink just to get the right thing done but at least it's now done. I've upgraded my star rating from one to four to reflect that in the end, things worked out.

We really wanted to love this service, but...
We really wanted to love this service. Unfortunately, out of 4 orders, not one delivery had a complete set of ingredients. Additionally, the customer's ability to change meals ordered and/or move delivery dates/times was lacking, which resulted in receipt of amounts and types of meals that were not desired. The recipes advertised were interesting and the ingredients received were high-quality, but, unfortunately, the delivery infrastructure/mechanisms just wasn't there, which makes participation with the service costly and frustrating.

Severely Contaminated Delivery, Dismissive Support, and No Refund — A Completely Unacceptable Marley Spoon Experience
I am extremely frustrated with my experience and am formally requesting a full refund for my most recent Marley Spoon order. When the delivery arrived, something inside the box had exploded, releasing a liquid with a strong vinegar odor that soaked nearly everything inside. Vegetables and other food items were completely contaminated, leaving me no choice but to throw away over half of the box for safety and sanitation reasons. This was not minor damage. This was a clear case of contamination that rendered a significant portion of the shipment unusable.Despite this, customer service refused to issue a refund. Instead, I was offered an estimated credit worth less than half the value of the box, and only as a future credit rather than a refund. This does not resolve the issue. I am now forced to go to the grocery store and repurchase items that should have been provided intact, while also being asked to place another order to even use the credit. That shifts the burden and cost entirely onto the customer. To make matters worse, the customer service chat was ended prematurely by the agent, without any clear resolution or confirmation, which is unacceptable when dealing with food contamination and loss.Given the extent of the spill, the contamination, and the lack of proper customer support, the entire box should have been refunded, not partially credited. This experience has been more of an inconvenience and financial loss than a service.Based on this experience, I strongly caution others. Stay away from Marley Spoon.

Absolute Scam
After researching forever and using Hello Fresh for years thought I'd try Marley Spoon. I got suckered by $253 off if you order now, figured it was definitely worth checking out. so go through the setup, they make sure to get your credit card early. Try to setup my first delivery and of course I don't have the promised promotion. I figured no big deal it happens, support isn't available, so all I can do is email. also since they've let me pick my recipes it auto orders and there is no way to cancel the incoming order. I completely cancelled my account with in 20 minutes of creating and it says "your last delivery is on it's way". There are way too many meal services to treat new customers this freaking bad.

The top meal kit after extensive comparison. Marley Spoon excels in recipe variety, ingredient quality, and the trusted influence of Martha Stewart. A seamless, enjoyable experience from selection to serving.

Just made the chicken breast with fig and olive topping and roasted potatoes. Excellent combination 💯

Very good. Make a few changes.
I have had a good experience with most of the meal kits. They offer a variety, and many are out of the ordinary. Beef omurice was new to me and very tasty. Harissa trout was a new spice taste that I enjoyed. I appreciate that they send a grass-fed version of ground beef.I very much love Roberta's pizzas from their Market. My criticisms are that they include products with MSG in the meal kits, for example in their soy sauce, when in fact they could easily get non-MSG alternatives. Also, lately I have been ordering beef-stewed-type dishes, and they send me pre-made braised beef. I would rather be sent raw meat, even if it takes me awhile to cook it.

I do not recommend Marley Spoon
I do not recommend Marley Spoon. Our first delivery never arrived, and the replacement box showed up a day late with all the ingredients thrown together and mixed with leaking meat juices — completely unsanitary.Customer service promised a refund, but later canceled it, leaving us frustrated and disappointed. In our experience, Blue Apron is far more reliable and provides much better service. This experience shows a lack of professionalism, poor delivery standards, and unhelpful customer support. I would strongly advise caution before using this service.

Delicious and Time-Saving
The recipes are inventive and delicious, it saves time meal planning and shopping, and it was delivered on time. Appreciate savings with a coupon code, too.

Every meal has been delicious and…
Every meal has been delicious and healthy. The only problem I have is that recently the meal kits are arriving late on Thursday evenings.

Something for everyone!
Really love the mix of recipes. From chef inspired bougie meals to family friendly standards. I can always find something I like or something new I can’t wait to try. And from all over the world! I feel like I can travel without leaving my house. Honestly the cost is the only deterrent. My number one choice for meal kits, but only if I have a promo code or the money available.

This is probably the tenth meal kit…
This is probably the tenth meal kit services we have tried over the past 6 years. We're on our first box and have made 4 meals so far. I had to give every meal 5 stars because they truly deserve it. I am very critical when I rate meal kits. Every ingredient item is excellent quality. Every detail in the preparation directions. They have a large selection every week.

The minute I put my cc# in they charged…
The minute I put my cc# in they charged my card. I never picked out any meals because I couldn't eat any of the ingredient's vodka, tilapia fish, etc.. They charged my credit card without me choosing any meals and shipped them. This was all done in a couple of days. They wouldn't allow me to stop the order that I didn't order. It said you could cancel at any time! After many emails the food arrived and I had to throw it away. I couldn't eat what THEY picked out. This is an awful company to deal with. I will NEVER give them a good review. Everything they said you could do does NOT happen.

Very sketch
I hate websites you must enter credit card information prior to choosing your meals. The website said you will not be charged, yet I was charged. I didn't realize I was charged, and they gave me the default meals. Of course, when I tried to cancel, they couldn't cancel the first order that hadn't even been shipped. This is usually a ploy by all these meal companies. They all use the same tactics, which is really annoying. I am assuming someone bought stock in these companies and that is the reason why our government hasn't required this business to be 100% open with all the information, including meals, upfront prior to entering in your credit card. Also, if a transportation company has not picked up the meal, the order can be canceled without being charged. These guys, I will never order from again.

I have tried a few other meal services…
I have tried a few other meal services since my husband's heart surgery last May and Marley Spoon is clearly the best. We are in our 6th week and have loved or liked all of our meals. Delivery and service have been excellent. My son, who has been ordering from Sunbasket for at least 10 years is also impressed. He is trying a trial basket and is likely to switch. I gave only 4 stars based on price. We have run out of the promotional discounts and are now feeling the full price of meals. I order 3 meals a week for 2 people and never order the upgraded meals because they are pricey. Even though I try to make frugal choices, MS is seeming to be out of our budget. I see a 'hero's discount' listed but can't find information about it. As a veteran family, a reduction in costs could make a big difference. To summarize, love the meals but feeling a financial crunch.

A variety of cuisines but where’s my recipes?…
I like the variety of cuisines offered and the imaginative recipes for holiday WOW (like the pumpkin maple French toast bake). However the box doesn’t consistently provide the recipe cards. I collect the recipes I enjoy and this feature is an important aspect of why I use Marley Spoon as I am a visual learner and with video or online recipes I can’t mark up the recipes with my own suggestions. Also some ingredients are missing from the box, especially when I order similar recipes. (1 small garlic bulb is supposed to provide 3 tablespoons of minced garlic?)

I’ve tried three others…
I’ve tried three other similar companies and I dumped them all in favor of Marley. Generally more creative and daring, some of these recipes are so simple, yet they come up with combos I’d never have thought of. Portions very fair, I’m super happy with Marley 4x per week!
