Ibis styles Birmingham NEC

Didn't get the standard of room booked .. was a small room , should have had a seating area/ sofa and dressing table.

Like sleeping in a building site.

Previously, when it came to hotels, my criteria were fairly simple. Reasonable prices, a comfortable bed and quiet so that I can sleep. The Ibis hotel I stayed in, near Bridgwater, did pretty good on the price and comfort side of things but, thanks to the constant noise of the extractor fan, in the bathroom, that wouldn’t turn off, sleep was not as sound as I would have hoped. But I have to add a new criterion to my list. The worst part of the room, and my stay, was the décor. Ugly bare, pock marked, concrete walls that were depressing and made me feel like I was sleeping in a building still under construction. There was a poster in the lift trying to tell guests that it is some bold art space, but I think it was a case of ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ and they were trying to justify skimping on the costs of creating aesthetically pleasant and comfortable rooms by labelling them ‘art’. Unimpressed and uncomfortable experience.

Just making a comment on the staff

I just want to say the hotel is great for the price .. especially for someone like me who was working in the area and wanted to stay in the hotel on my own..I came back from work on the Friday night early finish and was met by the staff named Chris he was more than helpful by serving me a alcoholic drink at 11.30 but then began to talk to him and after 4 pints that he let me stay for untill around 1 o'clock I chatted to him and found him not only professional but a proper nice bloke im not from the area of derby im a walsall lad .. we had a proper good chat over those drinks that I was able to get until early hours and told him after that I would write a review on him considering he was proper sound...and he even said to me I never ask people to write a review but I said I would anyway because my experience for those few hours really touched me as we got quite deep even tho he wasent drinking him self. Not once did he say ur getting drunk even tho I was .he just talks to me like a human being and I was that gratefull of the company im writing this message for him mainly .. this hotel is really good especially for the working man like me who needs a place to stay while working near by .. shower is amazing may I add .. but the staff are 10/10 here no bull shit

The term "Hotel" shouldn't be used

The term "Hotel" shouldn't be attached to the Ibis.Ibis Hotel in Newcastle is more of a 2 star Motel.Although cheaper than it's competitors, the quality & services are those of a backpackers in the CBD.Building & rooms look very tired.Room was so tiny, the double bed almost touched on all 3 sides.Had to turn sideways and shuffle my feet to get to the far side.Shower & toilet are moulded plastic units like those found in motorhomes and very tiny. Our aircon didn't work and had to reported so I they wouldn't think I broke it, and get charged for the repairs.Ordered the optional Breakfast and paid the $26 in advance.Choices were breakfast cereal, toast or tiny little ( still frozen ) croissants.Coffee was granulated from a jar a hot water from a Thermos.Expensive breakfast that was.Although the price was attractive, ultimately you get what you pay for.If there minimum rating was 0,I would give it that

Cancellations

I booked a hotel room in Victoria dandenong. A couple of minutes after I booked it I realised I booked it in the wrong area. I try to get a cancellation to change the location but got rejected twice.

Poor Customer Service

Due to snow and flight cancellations at Schipol Airport on the 4th January 2026 , we booked hotel accommodationAt the Ibis Hotel at the airport. Booking reference HO649 - TGROUP Unfortunately on the morning of departure, approx 4.00am, my sister had a stomach bug, we are not sure if this was due to the meal she ate the previos evening as she had expressed no feelings of being unwell prior to this.Sadly she vomited in the hotel lobby in full view of staff. The staff looked disgusted and made no attempt to clean this up. I asked for some towels in order that I could clean this up as I was concerned about other quests potentially slipping on this and also it wasn't very pleasant to look at. The staff made no attempt to support me and was happy for me to clean it up. I stated to staff that they would need to mop the area as I again did not want other guests to slip on it.I went up to the dining area to get my sister some water. Whilst in the dining area I noted that the staff from reception were up their getting their breakfast. To say I was horrified that the staff showed no compassion for my sister and the situation was beyond my comprehension.I am sure the hotel will have CCTV footage of the reception area to confirm what i am saying. Due to the experience that we encountered i would not be staying at an Ibis Hotel again and will strongly encourage my friends and family to consider very carefully their future hotel choices.

Crappy "Bed"

Stayed in a room for 3 at the Glasgow hotel, and the third "bed" (couch) was just abysmal. As a 6'3 individual, the bed definitely couldn't accommodate anyone over 5'5, not to mention how it was about only 3 inches thick. Everything else was just under average per hotel standard.

Very DISAPPOINTED - HORRIBLE.

Have stayed at this Ibis, Lillie Road, London hotel several times before it's renovations took place. We, my sister and I, had occasion to come to London on the sad duty of burying our mother. We checked in on 2/12/25 to check out 4/12/25. Our room was utterly freezing. House Keeping did not clean our room, or make the beds or empty the bins or clean and cleanse the bathroom, or replenish the scant tea bags (3 of them) or the 2 little milks, nor the few sugar packets, it was ridiculous, when the room for two nights was so expensive. We came back from our mother's funeral exhausted and just wanted to rest in our room. We came back to the conditions we had left the room in at 9am in the morning, by this time it was 3pm. I asked reception to have our room seen to whilst we stepped out to have something to eat, as we simply could not, and was not able to relax the dirty room. When we returned, all House Keeping had done, was replaced the miserly 3 tea bags and 2 milks, they had not cleaned the bathroom, the toothpaste which had spilled on the rest above the sink was still there, they just put new towel, did not make the beds, threw the duvets over the beds with the sheets still hanging out, we threw back the duvets, to find the sheets just as we had left them when we had gotten out of bed. The room was a mess. I had to complain upon checking out out this morning, 4/12/25.Sadly this guest they let down badly. I cannot write anything good about this stay.

I had a great stay at ibis Budget…

I had a great stay at ibis Budget Manchester Salford Quays. The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the staff were absolutely lovely — friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Perfect for a short stay and great value for money. Highly recommended!

Terrible experience in Paris, France!

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with a recent stay at this hotel. The experience was not only disappointing but also unacceptable given the standards I expected from the Ibis / Accor brand.Upon arrival, I was met with a very peculiar smell to the room in general, and appalled to find the bathroom in a revolting state, which failed to meet basic levels of cleanliness. The shower and ceiling in the shower area was covered in mould and clearly neglected. The toilet seat was broken and held together with sticky tape, which is not only unhygienic but also unsafe. Additionally, the air conditioning in the room was broken, making the stay extremely uncomfortable, and the radiator was hanging off the wall, which in itself to me appears a serious safety hazard. When I raised these issues with the hotel management, I was met not with concern or a willingness to resolve the matter, but with bemusement and indifference. Whilst the gentlemen manning the desk appeared genuinely embarrassed at the photos I presented him, they did not even ask for my room number which I would expect to allow them to remedy for the next guest! When I asked for a complaints form I was advised to email customer service directly, and told to expect a refund, unfortunately, trying to find a means to complain as they suggested has proven impossible, and other trip advisor reviews suggest attempts to engage are futile. This lack of accountability and basic customer care is incredibly disappointing. I trusted Accor to provide a clean, functional, and welcoming environment, and this experience fell far below those expectations.

Not too bad but could be better

Ibis Borehamwood. Decen hotel clean with friendly helpful staff. The restaurant bar area is a bit dated but for a 1 night stay it is adequate. The rooms are clean but again could benefit from a little TLC. Overall a decent hotel but a bit overpriced

Terrible stay in Ibis Aalst Centrum

If there is 0 star, I will give it a 0! We had a terrible stay at this hotel (Ibis Aalst Centrum Belgium)! Both rooms we booked were so smelly and noisy that it was almost impossible to breathe or sleep. We requested to change rooms, but the receptionist said the hotel was fully booked. However, the next morning when we decided to check out early (as we had booked two nights), the staff suddenly told us, “Why didn't you change rooms for the second night?” Obviously, they lied to us from the beginning. We then requested a refund for the 2nd night only which we would not be able to stay for another torture, but they refused, saying it was a non-refundable booking. However, this clause only applies when guests cancel for personal reasons, not when the room conditions are so terrible that it’s simply unfit for anyone to stay. We are extremely angry and disappointed by this experience. The way the staff handled the situation was completely unacceptable, and I hope this feedback warns other travelers to think twice before booking this hotel. Personally, I will never stay at this property—or any hotel from this chain—again!!!Never!!!

IBIS Swansea

IBIS Swansea. Carpark -plenty of spaces but advertised electric charger has been removed and not sign of it being temporary either.Bar /Reception area very good and staff excellent.AVOID using the UBER taxi terminal which price gouges consistently (use the phone app instead), quoting prices up to 4 x what the app will charge for the same journey.Room was very tired indeed with multiple dirty marks on walls, chipped corners of furniture and general areas where a good clean has been missed for some time.Breakfast was adequate, but thats it -just adequate. Is this typical of a ferry terminal hotel in the UK? It certainly isn't in France, Italy or Spain where you'd be hard put to find a similarly dirty and unkept hotel.Very poor when IBIS charged over £100 for the stay.IBIS if you're actually interested in knowing what would improve this score measurably:Keep your staff -they are your only asset currently.Give the rooms a thorough cleanRedecorate rooms where they are stains & marksReplace broken furnishingsReplace the EV charger or make sure it isn't advertised anywhereGet shot of that UBER terminal -it does you no favours and the charges are embarrassing for you.

Rubbish breakfast at Ibis Hotel

Booked to stay at the Ibis Hotel in Barcelona for 3 days with 2 nights with breakfast. Can say the room was pretty basic with a clean bathroom. The room came with an extension for USB port which did not work so take your own plugs.Breakfast the first morning was not what I expected and not much variety, money wasted. Requested a packed take away breakfast for next morning as we had early start. To my horror there was a dry sandwich with dry cheese no butter, one large apple and water. Do not pay to have breakfast at the ibis Hotel in Europe. It is a rip off.

They need to improve a lot

I made a reservation, by email, hat the Luxembourg airport hotel. Which went lost. So they put me and my mom (recovering) in the same bed. The food was way overpriced. Only positive thing is the walking distance to the airport.
