Listening to Greatest Hits Radio is like the movie “Sliding Doors”. The same tracks and the same artists are played over and over again such as Rod Stewart, Meatloaf, Phil Collins, Madonna, George Michael, etc, etc. And the way they keep advertising “Make Me A Winner” is deplorable: Actively encouraging listeners to gamble their money away when there is only a 1:200,000 chance of winning, with one particular presenter stating “Do it now, now is good”. Dreadful! The ONLY redeeming feature is Ken Bruce with “Pop Master” but why he joined such a terrible radio station is beyond me …
A rare achievement attained - a news bulletin with ALL the placenames pronounced incorrectly. With the Cornish language now having the same level of protection as Welsh, Irish and Scottish, you'd think a radio station called Greatest Hits Cornwall might make an effort to get it right. Apparently not.
It’s turned into the KB chat show. Play some music please. Boring show once Ken took over. I’ve switched to another station. Bc
Only listen to this because of Ken Bruce and usually turn off after his show ends. Echo what everyone else says about repetitive playlists. I can almost set my watch by the time i know that they will be playing “She’s Electric” every day!
It is impossible to navigate, it crashes all the time, I have to force stop and restart every time. I've tried deleting and re installing etc, still does it. If I could give 0 I would.
Lots of repetition of songs, need a better playlist. Adverts are appalling and repetitive. I have to switch off when the Viking advert comes on
Came over to GHR with Ken, some decent presenters, Ken, Simon, Rossie & Richard, but I’ve had enough of the crass incessant pushing of ‘make me a winner’ - it seems to be more important than everything else, and is aimed at those who can’t really afford it, and despite what they say, it IS a form of gambling, of which there is generally too much advertising. I would love to know how much this is making for Bauer! I’m also fed up with constantly being told to link my account to Rayo every time I use the Echo. I can take or leave the ‘normal’ advertising most of which is irrelevant to me. I’ve now had enough……….like many of my friends I’m going back to Radio2
GHR was very good at first but more recently the playlist has been getting very repetitive. They should have plenty to choose from over the 70s, 80s and 90s (and some 60s) but still seem to manage to be very repetitive. The ridiculous obsession with top 500 and 100 rundowns doesn't help and is getting very boring. It would be better to dump that idea and just play a varied playlist IMO. It seems to have lost its way a bit. If it doesn't improve I'll be moving on.
Totally ruined, by to many adverts.!!! (AND ALWAYS THE SAME ONES). if you take out gingles +advertising +news. There in only about 35 mins of music!! I listen to the radio to hear music. NOT DRIBBLING.!!
Continuity continues to be appalling; over playing of records, news and weather items and gingles. A traffic reporter on ‘South Coast’ that is incapable of pronouncing the place names correctly. A Make Me a Winner competition that is clearly making so much money it now has completions which people don’t have to pay to enter. Absolutely ridiculous. Where is the regulation?
This station should be called greatest adverts, play 2min song and 6min of adverts, utter rubbish, gone back to radio 2,
Decided, for the first time ever, to enter the Make Me a Winner competition. Spent £5 but did not receive a receipt or any notification whatsoever that I had entries into the draw. I have checked my bank account and they have taken the money. What a surprise. I also agree with the other reviews; far to many adverts, to much selling competitions and the music is very repetitive.
Seems the weekly text competition to win money is very biased to the north this based on the history of the winners locality
The female newsreader, who sounds about 12, continues to chat on about things which don't matter in the least, like how many hours of sunshine we've had (!!!) and continues to ignore the big stories around the world.
Most of the presenters on Greatest hits are good but Kate Thornton has to be the dullest person on radio. I have to switch off between 1-4pm.
I have today looked at my online bank account and have noticed a debit which I did not recognise. Apparently I signed up for a 1 month free trial period which I had forgotten about. The name for the debit is nothing like Rayo, Greatest Hits, Magic Classical. Very annoying and confusimg and needs correcting.
The music is repetitive, the ads are too long and AWFUL, and apart from Ken Bruce and Simon Mayo the presenters are appalling. Even Ken today played some DREADFUL music, why ? The newsreader (female) has no news to speak of and apparently has no idea what's actually going on in the world. So I'm not listening to this rubbish any more.
Totally rubbish and better when it was local eg: radio Norwich999 or the beach 103.4 or 97.4 as no local traffic news ken Bruce is doggy n horrible station who want to listen to Ken babble on GIVE KEN BRUCE THE SACK NO LOCAL NUMBER TO REPORT TRAFFIC ON EAST COAST 🤬😡
For the love of music PLEASE!!!please expand and change more often your PLAYLIST !!!It's very noticeable these days. Getting annoying!!
