Chris made the system easy to understand and he designed it to perfection. He was patient and understanding throughout the whole process. I look forward to getting my system installed in a few weeks.
These people are NOT to be trusted. Avoiding phone calls and emails is not business like. PAY YOUR BILL!!!
Joe Ward answered all of my questions. The paperwork was all conveniently online. The warranty is unmatched. The installers were skilled, and cleaned up all construction debris. The system sizing is appropriately just over 100% of my average peak kilowatt usage. (Another solar power provider was going to pad the price with 4 extra unnecessary solar panels). The panels have black frames, and look good. Already, I am nearly 100% off grid on all but the hottest days. The Tesla Powerwall 3 is quiet, and looks good on the wall in the laundry room. (It can be installed in a garage, but I am sure it will perform better in a room-temperature environment). Presently, Wiregrass Electric Cooperative does not have the 2-way meters. They are planning to get them soon. When that happens; I will be able to make over $1000 per year, selling power back.
About a year ago, I bought a house. It came with a solar energy system, 22 panels facing south and a bi-directional meter. The former owner says my power bills will be really low. I called FPL and transferred the existing service to my name.The first bill arrives and the price is not terrible, but not “really low”. Summer comes and the bills creep into the hundreds. I am thinking this solar business isn’t really panning out like I had hoped.A few months ago, a solicitor came to my door. He noticed my solar setup and wonders if I’d be interested in adding panels. I’m thinking, okay I already have the system, maybe for the price of some additional panels I can reduce my power bills. They send a guy to look at my system. He checks the meter, checks the panels. After two hours and several calls back to his office, they draw up a proposal: For $30K this company will add panels to my east and west-facing roof, to increase system output to “where it should be”. I tell them to call me in a week.So what happened? I called around to get some other quotes. CKR Solar sends a guy over. I explain how my bills seem high. He looks up at my roof and immediately names the panel brand, says they are quite good. He writes down some details and looks some more. Checks my meter and electronics. He asks to see my power bill. Then we sit down and he says he can fix my problem. I ask him how much?So, this man’s name is Ian King. Ian tells me it won’t cost me a penny. I see red flags and expect to be disappointed. Ian says the other company was trying to scam me– says I don’t need any additional panels or anything else. Huh? Ian points to a section of my power bill and explains I have not been receiving credit for power I’ve been sending to the FPL grid. He takes me back out to the meter and shows me how he confirmed power was indeed flowing both directions, as designed. Ian tells me who to call at FPL to fix the problem. Says that’s all I need. At this point I am a bit stunned. I ask him how much he wants for spending his afternoon troubleshooting my system. Ian says no charge, he’s happy to help people because it's the right thing to do and word gets around. He drives away with a smile and a wave.I called FPL and they told me I needed to sign a document. That’s all it took. My latest power bill was $25.66. My March consumption dropped from 10 to 0 kWh/day, with additional excess solar energy banked for future credit.Thank you, Ian!And thank you for reading my story. Good people need to be recognized. Jay with CKR solar was absolutely outstanding. Professional in every way from design to install, explained everything so we could understand every step. He was with us all the way throughout the process. We even produced electric back to the energey company for credit on our next bill. I would highly recommend CKR solar professionals,
Some of the things that stand out the most with this company is that I never felt pressured to buy something I did not want. I originally went with a different company and about 3 months after signing everything with that company I had the panels and everything in my driveway... 6 months later they still sat in my driveway. Ended up dropping that company and went with CKR solar. Everything was installed and ready to go (waiting on the meter to be swapped right now) in less than 3 months. The communication and professionalism displayed by this company is so far beyond what I experienced before. If you are debating about going solar give them a call, they are a great resource and will answer all of your questions.
We enquired about solar panels but our roof is blocked by the shade of massive oaks. We received an energy efficiency audit and a smart thermostat. Professional and great listeners. I’d highly recommend this company.
Excellent service and experience! They are incredibly knowledgeable. I took notes and fact checked everything and can tell you they were more honest than they needed to be. It is obvious that they wanted me to fully understand everything. Highly Recommend! We live on the Wakulla river with a lot of shade the they told us the truth and installed a system that is actually giving us what they promised.
