Nathan Gallagher-sensei is the best!
I've never had proper measurements taken before, so I was really nervous about buying a new men. But Nathan Gallagher-sensei was very kind, patient, and responsive when helping me make sure my measurements were correct over email. He's also able to tell you what your current stuff is made from just by looking at a picture no matter how beat-up it is, which can really help diversify the types of equipment you use! And the men I ordered came within the month. Overall, I will definitely be considering California Budogu for future equipment purchases.

Great Bogu Sets
California Budogu offers excellent Bogu sets. The Bogu is really comfortable and easy to break in. The set also retains its shape really well. The shock absorbing technology offers great protection and is well worth it. Nathan provided very accurate advice on fitting and answering any questions. I was looking for a high quality men, since good head protection is essential. I decided on the Sapphire men and found exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend CA Budogu for quality equipment and great customer service.

California Budogu is amazing! The communication was nice and quick. They were very accommodating when I wanted something specific for my Mune design. California Budogu has become the only place I shop for kendo equipment. Nathan from California Budogu is honest and easy to work with. I love the Pearl Jissengata bogu set I purchased. It's extremely light weight and comfortable. It took no time to break in. The men dare is shortened exactly the way I wanted and has that modern look. The nafuda from Dannoya is probably the best on the market. Great looking fonts, detail and thick elastic band on the back that keeps mine from slipping off.

Nathan was really helpful with my bogu consultation and bogu planning process. He answered all of my questions throughout multiple days and email conversations and was really informative! The end product arrived way more quickly than I anticipated as well. I genuinely don't think there's a better bogu vendor out there in terms of customer service than California Budogu.

Very happy with my purchases... especially kendogi/hakama where at other stores it's been very hit-or-miss, all the ones bought here have been better quality than more expensive ones I've bought elsewhere.What puts this store over the top is that the owner is does an amazing job of making sure you're happy, responding to things like deliveries questions and such quickly. In fact, I realized at one point that he was the same person that I had remembered a decade ago (at another kendo store) for being so responsive and helpful.
