I cannot imagine a worse moving company…

I cannot imagine a worse moving company than Allied Transportation Group. Communication with their employees is awful, unless they are calling for additional money. They padded the bill for much more cubic feet than the actual amount. The front of the truck was only stacked half way up, but charged for full amount, and even tried charging me for more cubic feet than the truck could hold, which actually made me laugh! 9 pieces of furniture were damaged or broken by the movers.

The most dishonest & deceitful company imaginable....

We have never worked with a more dishonest or deceitful company than ATG, moving is stressful enough so don't add to your stress by using this company. The initial quote seemed reasonable however we got concerned after we decided not to move a few larger pieces and they reduced the truck size from a semi to a 26' ft truck - for a 3300 sq ft house + garage. We'd made this move previously and told them multiple times we needed a semi however they insisted their crew were excellent at packing the truck and a 26' truck would be fine. The day before the move they called to go over the inventory list and we discovered they had removed items from the original list, when we pointed it out they announced the price would be almost double because they had to rent a second truck. We told them this was clearly bait & switch and the operations manager laughed and said they would honor the original quote, they just wouldn't move everything and would leave 1/2 in the house we had to be out of the next day. They knew we had no choice and even said "good luck finding another company to move you out of state at the last minute, you'll never find someone at this point". They then moved the arrival time from 8am to 12N, finally showed up at 1pm with day labors who had no packing / moving experience, reeked of pot, and bounced the furniture down the stairs damaging the floors and walls. It took them until midnight to finish loading because they showed up so late. We've never seen a company be as rude and outright dishonest as ATG is. It was shocking to know we were being scammed and not be able to do anything about it because they waited until the day prior when they knew we had no options. In the end we paid almost double the original quote, arrived with multiple damaged or broken items, and will always regret hiring them for our move.

I hired ATG in Jul

I hired ATG in Jul. They purposely gave lower quote to get my business. Once I gave the deposit then they start changing pick up ETA by saying we gave pick up window. They were late for their pick up window as well. The freight was loaded by their sub contractor who doubled the quote after all the furniture was loaded as furniture took more space.Customer Service was horrible. Their sub contractor was late for delivery but they kept lying about their eta. Once we open the trailer our furniture was scratched and damaged.I wouldn't recommend hiring these con artists.

LESS THAN one star

LESS THAN one star! Do not use this company they will scam you into additional charges and not respond to emails about how to file a claim for damages done to your belongings by their company or workers. We have our contract and photos and video of what this company did to us during our move and are taking them to small claims court because they conveniently do not respond when you have a problem only when they want your money. They will outsource your move through smaller companies like CITA VAN LINES to make it even more confusing.

DO NOT USE

Every step of the move with this company was terrible. At first consult we were given a reasonable quote and comparable with other companies. I asked if the company was a broker and was told no. Lie number one. On the day of pickup our window was 12pm to 4pm. No one showed and it is near impossible to reach anyone through customer service. I went through every number on our paperwork. We finally heard from our driver who arrived at 9PM, and stayed until 2AM. From our estimate I had removed several large furniture items including a full dining set and a desk, as well as over 20 medium boxes (standard home depot sizes) prior to pick-up. Some how we still managed to exceed the square footage estimate of 1100 sq ft by a full 300 sq ft. Classic bait and switch move by the estimators. We were told by our driver our items would arrive on a specific day. Halfway through our drive to our new home on the agreed upon day, we received a call where he said "Remember how I said we would be there today? Well that is not going to happen." This happened every day for the next several days until our items finally arrived the next week. Not a fun experience living in an empty home with two kids under 3. When our items arrived our most expensive piece had all the legs broken off. The "manager" said insurance would give us $6 or he would give up to $100. For a $1500+ piece of sentimental furniture that we had already been upcharged to move. Also at dropoff the driver would only accept cash. Not even a money order. Very sketchy.Once they have your money, do not expect any one to pick up the phone or contact you with any details on when you expect your items. Only hire this company if you want to be left in tears at the end.

SCAM! DO NOT HIRE!

My daughter hired Allied to move her and my 2 young grandchildren from Montana to near me in Michigan, immediately following her divorce. They emailed her a quote of $2100. They showed up after 8pm, the night before her closing date on her house. They had to be out. When the movers showed up, they were a Slovakian and an Asian, neither could speak any real English, but were both fluent in Russian. The Slovakian put stuff in the truck while the other tried to keep my daughter distracted away from him. Fortunately, she wasn't so distracted that she didn't notice him tagging multiple boxes and items multiple times, trying to increase the recorded cubic feet used. He played dumb when she called him out on it. After it was all loaded, the driver asked for the payment, which was double the quote. He told her if she didn't like it, they would dump her belongings in her yard and leave. She paid. They told her that her stuff would be somewhere in Michigan, and no, you can't know exactly where, nor can you access your things. You cannot rent a truck to pick it up yourself. They can't extort you more if they let you do that. Before the day came, which was today, to have her belongings delivered, they had extorted her for about $6000. Even though she took the 3 biggest items off when she wound up selling them. So you'd think the cost would have gone down, not up. After she told me about what was going on, I looked into them and saw hordes of awful reviews about them. We knew then that she would be lucky to ever see her stuff again. So many have not. Two days ago, they said it would be a week to get her stuff. When she asked why, they said because they had to get a semi and drive 1600 miles. If her stuff was in Michigan like they said, why 1600 miles and a week? The very next day, she got a voicemail saying they would be here today, and yet another, final payment of $3400 would be due upon delivery. Cas or money order,, of course. She decided that nothing she has is worth allowing the extortion to continue, and that she would not pay it. Two different men showed up in the biggest 18 wheeler I've ever seen. The driver spoke Russian, very poor English. The other guy, the big one who served as the "muscle", did not speak. He only tried to intimidate. I told them one of two things were going to happen... either you don't unload her stuff and get sued, or you do unload and the company can try to sue her for not allowing them to extort her. They did not unload, and she watched them drive away. Them immediately, 3 back to back phone calls from people at the company called her, trying to threaten her. If you don't pay up and take your stuff, we'll store it and charge you storage fees and a redelivery fee. In a couple months, we will auction it off. She refused their antics, and about 5 minutes later, the truck drove by again. They waited to see if they could force her to pay up. So my daughter and 2 young grandchildren lost all their belongings today. Photos, crafts the kids made, family mementos, among the rest. These people don't care who they hurt, as long as they get as much money as they can squeeze out of them. Something needs to give.

SCAM

First and foremost, it would be zero stars if it would have allowed. Anyway, do not fall for the reviews and ratings that Allied Transportation Group has on their own site and other potential sites stating anything higher than a 1-2 stars; they are all false. There is no chance that a reputable company with that kind of rating would rip customers off. I scheduled a pick up of my belongings and through the entire process I kept asking the company if they wanted me to provide an accurate list and dimensions, in which they said no. I was told that their "QA" would call me to go over my list of items, but i never received a call. After the first driver called stating his truck had radiator problems, I asked him if he wanted to go over the list to make sure everything was okay, and again a no. That driver never showed up, even though he had already been running late. A second driver called and told me his truck broke down (are you seeing the trend?) , I asked him if he wanted to go over the list, since he was simply sitting around waiting for his trucj to get "fixed" and he said no. After almost being a week late, he callled me back and told me his "truck blew up" and would not be able to make it. I then got a call from a thrid driver, and again I asked if he wanted to go over the list, and again a resounding "NO". But at least he said "we can take everything".. I waited in anticipation for him to call to tell me his truck "broke down", but he didn't, in fact he actually showed up; way behind schedule, and far behind the original scheduled date, but he actually showed up. When he arrived, not only did he say "his list" didnt list all of my things, but told me that he would have to charge me an additional $8000. Needless to say i did not allow him to touch my stuff, and told him to leave. This company and their sub-contractors and or brokers are a total scam. Don't walk away from this company... RUN!!! They are a total scam.

Very stressful experience!

We had a signed contract and the cost later increased by 1/3 with no explanation. Then a subcontractor was hired and wanted payment from us, because the original payment had gone to Allied. Then, after the movers wouldn't unload the truck until we gave them more than $1000 CASH, they refused to give us a paid receipt. It was a very expensive and frustrating experience.

Cost of the move doubled over the…

Cost of the move doubled over the estimate because not enough space was allocated for the items being moved. Drivers were always late both at the pickup and delivery of the furniture. many items were damaged during the moving process. my cost for repairs to the damaged furniture was over $ 500.00. Drivers walked away with tools that were borrowed because they brought none with them.

Do not use this company

I cannot stress strongly enough that Allied Transportation Group is totally the most horrible moving company in existence. I have dealt with multiple movers over the last 70 years, but never have I dealt with a company as dishonest as this one. When I read the horrible reviews, I questioned the company broker (Richard) about the bad reviews. He explained that it was the problem with customers under exaggerating the size of their load, and when their driver shows up there was more that estimated and overcharges were due. Richard explained that my load, where I had an exact number of boxes and dimensions of the several pieces of furniture, I would be fine. I must state at this point that the contract you are required to sign specifies several cases that would result in overcharges. Trust me your move will result in every single one of the overcharges. That is how they make their money. If your move is between two addresses directly in the interstate, you will still be charged a “transfer fee” because the semi-truck cannot make it to address based on THEIR route, and their route is whatever they say. You give them dimensions of a table, but at pick up the driver says that the table is “bulky”and a special “bulky fee” is owed. This means every couch, table, bed etc., that is in your move will be charged an extra “bulky fee”. You measure every box and you know the volume of the load, but the driver says once your load gets on the truck the volume changes.? How is that possible?, well it is and you owe more money. Your contract allows for all the “unexpected” added charges, and they must be paid. If you cancel at pick up, you still have to pay and you are left in the lurch. The contract also states the load will be inventoried, protected with straps, and moving pads, and will be delivered within 7-17 business days. However, none of these items occur. So, 22 days later you are just relieved to get your boxes. However, you also receive 7 boxes from someone else, your boxes (one labeled fragile Lamp shade) are open, and items added to them? Do you what your boxes delivered to someone else, and do you want to pay every possible upcharge to have that privilege. Then I suggest you use this moving company. However, if you want a safe and accountable moving company use anyone but this company
