Zero Customer Service
I needed to cancel a non-refundable booking due to a medical injury. Almost all companies / hotels refund a non-refundable booking when you provide documentation of a medical injury and inability to travel. I contacted these scammers 6 times and they never responded. Will never book with them again.

Trivago promotes scam websites
Trivago linked me to a scam booking website. They booked my accommodation and and then canceled it 2 days later without explanation. I only found out as I contacted the hotel directly.

Do not book with Trivago, customer service non existent.
Do not use, book direct instead. We booked a standard room and received a basic room without any window that looked nothing like the picture. The hotel pulled out a booking which had not been shared with us that stated otherwise. Of course, their hands were tied. Our only recourse was to pay more for a standard room later into our stay when one became available or stay in the assigned economy room. I wrote to trivago’s customer service and never heard back. Will never deal with them again and instead, will book direct.

When we had to cancel our travel unexpectedly, the site Trivago partnered with, that held our reservation, refused to refund. Although we had free cancellation as part of our booking. Trivago declined to offer any assistance, said it was nothing to do with them. Eventually our bank took action and we received our refund several months later. The customer service was non existent. They tried to wear us down with endless running around; but because we had a legitimate claim, the bank forced them to refund. We haven’t used Trivago since. And never again. Beware!!

Booked a 1 night stay on trivago site,which does say you can amend bookings,but unfortunately put the wrong date down.This was noticed 5 minute later so rang the number on email and saw it was from Algotels.The lady said she would sort it but she didn’t as I rang the hotel next day and the booking was still there.So why do trivago pass you to another booking company,Algotels,who you will get no joy from.No cancellations and no amendments is all you get.Yet on trivago site it says you can.Got us by the short and curlies.DONT use either is my recommendation.

Absolute worst customer service ever
Absolute worst customer service ever I was booking a hotel room for February 12 and 13th and I originally picked two queens. I then backed out of it and changed it to a king and hit book and when I got my confirmation, it was booked for April 12 and 13th and they said that there is absolutely nothing they can do about it.

Cancelled my booking, no notification
Used Trivago to get a hotel room for an event I was attending. Get to the hotel, and they cannot find my reservation. Good thing they had a room for me to rent. Bad news is that I showed them the emailed payment receipt and booking confirmation. Apparently Trivago did an admin cancellation on my booking almost a month ago and never informed me. Same credit card the hotel took so that surely cannot be the problem. So to hell with Trivago and the fake denture spokesman on their ads. It's a crappy service and I will never use it again.

I searched for accommodations on Trivago and booked a 15-night stay at Sun Vera Hotel, Alanya (Turkey). Trivago redirected me to another booking site, Stayforlong, where I completed my reservation (Reservation #442GJC).Upon arrival, the hotel refused our stay and demanded an extra fee that was never mentioned during booking. Trivago took no responsibility for this issue and only referred me to Stayforlong.The room had a broken air conditioner, poor ventilation, and unacceptable hygiene, creating health risks for my elderly mother, young child, and family.We had to move to another hotel, incurring extra costs, and our 15-day vacation was cut short to 8 days. Trivago failed to ensure transparency or take responsibility for the misleading booking.I request a full refund, compensation for additional expenses, and for Trivago to address the misleading booking process.

What A RIPPOF. Every single check I've done with Trivago, I've found Trivago shows a HIGHER PRICE than it is with the individual providers themselves.It's no wonder Trivago was fined $44.7 MILLION for misleading information.Trivago's information is STILL MISLEADING.

That was a first time to book a hotel through Trivago. It was a mistakes as they are very complicated to solve any problem. I made a mistake on a date during booking. As soon as I paid a realized mu mistake. I tried to modify the date online but no such as possibility there. So I called them but no one did nothing more the accelerate my issue to a department. I could not talk to this department. They will email me in 48 hours if they modify my booking. Any other booking website is easy on modifying on changing . They do it over the phone right away. I dont need to wait and worry if they can even do it. Very disappointed.

This was supposed to be a "DEAL", however because of extremely bad weather, we had to cancel. I believe we paid as much as booking straight to the hotel and the cancellation was much earlier than the actual hotel. No refund, no rescheduling, no "DEAL." Out $175 and no one cares. Very disappointing and we will make sure to tell others to book directly with the hotel. They are not the ones who book the hotel, but a third party. They hide who actually booked the hotel so that you can not have any communication with them. They keep the money you are out!

Sorted, in the end.
After writing a negative review on 13th January, I thought I would just update. After many more emails and now nearly 3 weeks I have been told my refund is on the way. So, don't give up hope, just keep pressing them and maybe you can get a positive result.
