Signed up, gave all my business info, more than most people would. Small business. Just got a message saying we cant offer you a trial, no reason nothing. I gave a very comprehensive reason why I wanted to use the service, for example letting customers know when I was available etc. Waste of time dont bother.
We tried to use it as firebase's sms alternative, but it was huge mistake. not sure what 500 people in the companies are doing. must be planning for bigger scam
Plivo advertises itself as “the most reliable SMS provider.” In reality, it’s the opposite. A few years ago, their entire website went offline for several days because they forgot to renew their domain - this is something that even the most basic IT operation wouldn't miss. Domain registrars send multiple reminders, which they clearly ignored. As a software engineer who’s worked with many SMS providers, I’ve never seen anything this careless.Recently, I tried to log into my old account to retrieve some information. The account was instantly blocked without explanation. I submitted a support request and waited and haven't received any response from them since then. It’s clear nothing has improved over the years.
I fail to see how it's acceptable to blacklist someone based solely on a signup attempt without any actual information or verification. That feels like an incomprehensible form of discrimination.
It is terrible. I couldn't get a test account and I get an error. Tech support responds with a standard phrases without explanation. Some kind of strange service

Went through the effort of trying to convince them to vet their services. They simply flat out deny allowing me to create an account even though the service we are building is 100% transactional with no marketing. I've never seen such rejection with absolutely zero explanation. I'm so glad I finally found these other bad reviews to get perspective on what I believe is just a really bad way of doing things. Yuck.
Utterly bad support and a huge nightmare trying to contact the support to resolve a SMS pricing issue. And later left me being unable to receive any SMS from them yet being charged.Some of their default SMS template does not even have the correct encoding and therefore segments your sms text unnecessarily and ends up costing you a lot more than what they advertise on their pricing page.If you are the Plivo agent looking at this TrustPilot review, have a look at your support ticket: #359879Complete waste of time and incompetent support. This company is a scam. They collect your personal data in the registration process only to tell you right afterwards that "based on risk assessment" they are not able to provide services.What an utter nonsense.

The 1st 4 years were great. Never any issues, and very helpful and easy to work with when transferring in numbers.This last year something changed (probably management)I noticed their support very slow, and not helpful at all. Stop replying to tickets.Well last week I wanted to update my email address, and after about a week of back and fourth they reply with "Hi Team, We have received an update from our internal team and we wanted to inform you that, as part of our routine account audit processes, your account has been flagged due to one or more issues. Consequently, we have implemented a block on your account. Our team has conducted a thorough assessment, and after careful consideration, our decision is final. We understand that this news may be unexpected, and we appreciate your understanding of the circumstances that have led us to make this decision."Then they charged my credit card $33As I checked my statement, they charged me another $25 last week as well.Going to have to put in chargebacks.What a shame.
Stay far, far way. Plivo is nothing but a scam now. It's impossible to get a new account, and even existing accounts (I had one for five years) have been shut down without warning.

Scam and waste of time and money. Spoke to customer service and described use case and volume. They gave me competitive pricing and said sign up for account. Signed up and got auto denied due to some BS “risk asesmemt”. SeemsThey are just collecting business emails for spam because they are auto denying everyone. We are a US company, 10+ years old, using SMS for internal notifications and NO marketing. Used Twilio for years. What kind of “risk assessment” are they conducting when you sign up with just email? For sure this is a phishing scam and needs to be avoided

I waited 9 weeks to get my number verified and when it finally did, I got banned by the carriers on the second text message. Complete waste of time and money. Do not use this company!!!

I am using Plivo for the last 3 months. Currently, we are facing a lot of call connectivity issues, especially Indian calls. We reported multiple times, But they are taking so much time to resolve this. Is anyone facing the same issue?
