Lack of Transparency, Functionality, and Ability to Tell the Truth
This company now calls itself "Kit." This platform has more than a few issues. It doesn't have the basic functionality that other platforms such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp have had for YEARS such as directly testing links in preview. And last year, they raised their prices 50% without telling customers that email campaigns sent from their platform would not render in Outlook - affecting reach to the 1.2 MILLION companies that use Outlook. I confirmed this with Microsoft. When you reach out to Convert Kit/Kit support them, they spend an ridiculous amount of time skirting around whatever the real issue is, often to cover for the fact they have no idea how to fix their functionality issues. It appears their focus has been on marketing and courting the so-called influencers" and building a creator network that is supposed to increase engagement, but does absolutely nothing. Paying these "influencers" is probably why the price hike was done.Avoid Convert/Kit if you don't want the heartburn of having to re-platform when you find out the hard way how bad it really is.

SCAMMY that leads to SUSPICION
I signed up for CONVERTKit Trial and the first thing I noticed is there are very LIMITED capabilities so I immediately provided my card details for the full experience but was still limited. I was prompted to seek help and did so in regard to the restrictions - it was preventing me from creating emails, sending previews or test emails and other features were simply not available. I begun chatting and was told my account needed to be "verified". During the "verification" they ask why would you use the platform, socials, and website information if you have any. As I provide my socials etc- I get a response stating "At this time, we don't believe our platform is the right fit for your business, so we are unable to support your account.......Per those terms, your account has been cancelled effective immediately" mind you I BROKE NO RULES OR TERMS. A waste of time and energy. Creating sequences, landing pages all to be denied! I think this is sad yet comical as providing all this information and then you all investigate can lead to wild perceptions of discrimination since I HAVE NOT broken any terms or conditions around their "strict policies" yet- requesting my socials etc - gives you full access to VIEWING WHO I AM and we all know how it goes! Glad to take my business elsewhere

They keep spamming me with their emails, and they have no link to unsubscribe. I mailed them twice and asked to opt-out but they are ignoring it and still trying so sell me their useless product.

Bait and Switch. Unresponsive Customer Support
Bought in on one plan, the price then tripled.I was stuck for the rest of my contract knowing I was going to have to change services eventually.Customer service sent me in a loop of automated messages. When I finally did get to speak to someone they didn't really listen.Offered me a one year discount to stay and told me it was outside the 30 day refund, despite them changing the rules mid-contract.

This has been the worst platform
This has been the worst email and webinar/masterclass platform I have ever used. Their customer service is unresponsive and ineffective. I created my webinar so people could register, but the day of my event, they restricted my account without warning. At least 10 people told me they had successfully registered or subscribed, yet none received a confirmation email or the class link.Because of this, attendees could not log in to the event, costing me both time and business. Support was slow, unhelpful, and only after repeated follow-ups did they escalate my case to a manager—just to send me the list of email addresses from those who had tried to subscribe. There is no phone support, the instructions are overly complicated, and the platform itself is extremely difficult to navigate. I strongly recommend choosing another platform and saving yourself the frustration and wasted effort.

Disgusting Automatic Pricing
Disgusting the way they automatically increase your plant, but they will NOT do it when you decrease it. I got charged for an annual plan, (6 month pending). Since I noticed my charge 30+ days after it being done, they would not adjust my pricing or plan, so now I have less subscribers and charged for a plan I AM NOT USING. This tricky ways to charge extra and not be HONEST about NOT DECREASING your plan is DISGUSTING, and thats why Im ditching ConverKIT for good once the plan is over.

Don't waste your time or money like I did.
I've used CK for the last 6 months. The email editor I do like, as it's simple. I've only reached out to support a handful of times (less than 10), and never was able to get a clear answer on things. I had to email billing monthyl to get clarification on my billing, as I always found them to overcharge me. I was paying $119/mo for Convert Kit as I was on the 10k plan (roughly 9,500 subscribers) I clean out my list a few weeks back (deleted 2,200), so now have about 7,300 subs. Which would put me on the 8k plan ($99/mo). I got billed for the 10k bc I didn’t manually reach out to downgrade my account. I have to manually reach out to downgrade?I emailed support, and she downgraded my account (within 24 hours of being billed), and she told me they don't offer refunds. I'm now in the process of cancelling my account. Deliverability is so-so, and for that price tag, you're paying for the name, certainly not performance or service. Don't waste your time or money like I did.

Have been using it for about a month and it's terrible. The templates are limited and boring designs, they don't execute as per the preview and I've wasted hours trying to achiieve something worth sending to subscribers

My Experience with Kit
My Experience with KitI signed up for Kit, hoping to use it as my email marketing platform, but my experience was incredibly frustrating. My brand-new account was shut down before I even had the chance to send my first emails. Kit claimed it was due to concerns about affiliate marketing, even though I hadn’t engaged in any affiliate promotions—just had plans for the future to include them responsibly. What made things worse was that this happened while I was participating in a bundle event, offering a freebie to grow my email list. Because Kit disabled my account, my freebie became inaccessible, and I lost the opportunity to gain new subscribers. Now, the bundle host is ignoring my emails, making it impossible for me to fully recover from the situation. As for Kit’s support team, they weren’t much help. Instead of genuinely addressing my concerns, their responses felt dismissive, like they were just trying to frustrate me further. It was clear they had already made up their minds, leaving me with no way to resolve the issue.Overall, my experience with Kit was disappointing. If you’re looking for an email platform that actually supports creators and small business owners, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Waste of time and resources
I was able to cancel the subscription very easily but overall experience was very bad. Waste of time and resources. Automations just did what they wanted and we even had an integration expert to support us. However, the KIT support is so useless.. nobody helped us set up simple reminder sequence. Until now, we did not figure up how KIT works tbh even though we are quite technical and digital savyy. Moved to ActiveCampaign.

ConvertKit is a fraudulent company with…
ConvertKit is a fraudulent company with really poor business practices that fails at communicating their pricing and billing. At one point you might be asked to upgrade to a $49 plan which then shows up as $29 on the billing page, which later shows up as $79 when you go to cancel, only for them to let you know it’s actually $129. When you cancel, they continue to charge you, but close down your account altogether. The software is average and clunky, but it doesn’t dismiss the fact that it’s a company that no one should trust.

"Terrible experience with ConvertKit
"Terrible experience with ConvertKit! They closed my account for no reason and even asked me to change my business name—how ridiculous is that? Instead of supporting creators, they make arbitrary decisions with no explanation. Avoid if you don’t want your business disrupted!"Stole my 680 subscription emails. And send AI to deal with the situation what a scam !!!!

Aweful experience
Cancelled my paid plan as it is hugely overpriced since the switch to KIT.COM (Formerly convertkit.com). Instead of putting me back to the free account I was originally on. They completely blocked me from my account! They also won't let me access anything unless I pay another month. Terrible service, I would highly recommend you look elsewhere.

Account deletion far from ideal
ConverKit (now Kit)'s solution isn't bad, however the account deletion service is far from ideal. It's ridiculous how long they're taking to process my request. I've been waiting for over six weeks now. With other services, you can simply click a button and your account is gone. Why does Kit's legal team need to get involved? It seems like an overly complex and potentially legally questionable process.

i dont know
I am wondering if in email marketing software it is a reviewers responsibility to catch all the reality of the reviews or the platforms. I see so questionable comments here.

scum
Be cautious about using this service. They may freeze your account under questionable reasons and issue a refund, but your followers will not receive any compensation. It's a frustrating experience with an institution that seems to focus on exploiting small amounts of money from creator.

There should be an option for zero stars! Disgusting service and zero customer service. You can’t delete or edit changes to the account easily. And I was asked if I’d like a cancellation instead because a deletion is a long process etc. 30 days to delete the account…wow. Awful, awful site.

TERRIBLE customer service
The customer service here is next level terrible. For the price ConvertKit charges, they should be ashamed of themselves. As a paying customer, I feel like I’m being scammed and conned out of money since I can’t send out emails and their customer service is an absolute joke. The one service you offer is EMAIL and when I can’t even do that, what exactly is the point of your company?

Account terminated right after creation
Horrible experience! I created an account which was immediately terminated for no reason. I was not even able to finish my setup. I cannot recommend and am using another landing page builder now.

Decent, but hard to navigate backend
My team is using ConvertKit. It's easy to make landing pages and send newsletters, but the backend is sprawling and hard to use. My email marketer is one of the best in the business and gets tripped up with hard to find important tools and automations. We're looking for a different provider right now
