24 hour AllenTx

I go to the 24 hour in Allen, TX. The personnel behind the desk never greet me or say goodbye. They just stand there engrossed in their phones. Just so rude. Would a friendly greeting kill you? Geez.

24 Hour Sh**hole

I have been a member for 33 years and this is the worst condition I’ve ever experienced. Half of the machines are broken and have been for months. For the group exercise classes, there is only enough weights for half the people who show up. Management refuses to purchase more, which leads to people hoarding weights. Floors mirror and bathrooms are filthy.

Customer service is bad

They can never give notice on due dates until late fees. Never get my name, address and email correct.

Tight fisted 1-sided customer service at 24 Hour Fitness in Castle Rock CO

I signed up for a 1-year membership at the Castle Rock Colorado location in Dec 2024. I began using the gym a couple times a week until I came down with a cold or flu or Covid (?) in the first 2-3 months. Being a highly cautious person regarding illnesses, until that point, I had not even been infected with Covid, since 2020. Since I had just started using a public facility with LOTS of hands-on equipment and huffing and puffing, I assumed that I caught the bug at 24 Hour Fitness. After several buddies telling me the same thing, I decided to stop using the gym. In the time I used the gym, I never once saw anyone actually cleaning the equipment..especially the weight machines and free weights. So, I decided that I had wasted my money because I just stopped going. Not worth the risk of getting really sick at a "health" club. I realized at that time why gyms were shut down during Covid. Just two weeks ago 24 Hour tapped my debit card for 2026, on auto-pay. I went in to speak with them today and they insisted that they had sent me an email in November and claimed that they tried to call me to notify me of the auto-pay. I got home and went through my Nov 2025 emails and there was no email from 24 Hour Fitness. The kid who I talked with gave me a very rehearsed speech on how I agreed to the auto-pay and how even if I had not received their email, they had sent it. Then it was "well, they sometimes call". I told him why I would not be coming to the gym in 2026. Bad hygiene, poor maintenance.. Overall, it confirms for me the anecdotal stories I've heard from others regarding 24 Hour Fitness. I have buddies who have all reported more frequent sickness when they go to 24 Hour. From what I saw in there, it is basically a germ farm. Relying on customers to wipe down their equipment only creates a virus soup smeared on everything that users get to take home with them. Hand-washing and using wipes doesn't cut it. Big fallacy. Equipment must be CLEANED...DAILY. I'm not going to jeopardize my immune system by trying again. I bought some equipment and using it at home. The auto-pay culture needs a proper burial. If my business can't create return customers without pre-charging the client for their next purchase a year in advance, then I think I need to reboot my business model or get out. The point of this review is to remind consumers that large corporate entities like 24 hour Fitness which will not extend a "human factor" to their customer service policy need to pay the "market penalty" by losing a few potential customers for every paying customer whose legitimate issues they dismiss. . After several years of the Covid drama 24 Hour needs to stop trying to recoup lost income by NOT having much customer service and squeezing every buck. I will cost 24 Hour Fitness of Castle Rock 10-20X the $210 they charged my card by word of mouth. That's how it's done. Lots of people out their trying to get into shape, and negative PR goes a long way. That's the free market way.

Charged me twice and didn’t return it

I’m writing this review in the hopes of learning if anyone else has had this happen to them. I’ve been going to the 24 Hr Fitness on Los Alisos in Mission Viejo, CA, a smaller, neighborhood location for about 13 yrs now. Recently my insurance changed and included gym membership, so we updated my account so that insurance was paying for it. But the next month I was charged again on my old account as well as my insurance paying, so they were paid twice. When I brought it to the attention of the manager there and asked to be reimbursed, he said he would be happy to update his system (glitch on their part) but that he could only credit me back 50% of what I was over charged. He said he couldn’t give me back the full amount that they over charged me. Isn’t that strange and unreasonable? I couldn’t get him to credit me back the overage, and I’m still annoyed. No apology or offer for product in the amount of what they still owed me…yet if I owed them money, I’m sure they would be on my case to pay what I owe. I will be contacting a higher office on this, but I wonder if this is what they do to everyone? If so, it’s poor customer service and a terrible business practice…makes you think ‘crooks’. Not okay…and yet we really like the staff and have many friends there, so I am torn, but I want the full amount of what they overcharged me! Is that too much to ask?UPDATE: 24 Hour Fitness has now refunded me in full since submitting my review above. I’m still not sure why this was dragged out, but I’m happy this is resolved.

Tanasbourne

Tanasbourne, member for three years, classes never smaller then 15 usually 25 or more. Went last week to my Saturday spin class only to find out corporate closed the room because of some new program they up charge for and loaded the cycle room with fancy recliners!!!! Moved the bikes to a crowded classroom on the other side where each of us seniors have to wait until the class in there finishes then move out our own bikes and also move them back. No more warm up, class not on time so not a full hour or comfortable and when we wanted to complain, were told it came from corporate and they don't care ---

Cleanliness and facility maintenance…

Cleanliness and facility maintenance are major points of dissatisfaction. Multiple reviews describe gyms as filthy, with dirty floors, unclean showers, and malfunctioning equipment. One reviewer noted trash on the floor in the men’s shower room, broken steam rooms, and stolen shower heads, while another described a facility as "DISGUSTING" with outdated machines, worn-out pads, and unsanitary conditions, including a "no-go zone" bathroom. A review reported dirty showers, black floors, a lack of air conditioning, and a jacuzzi that was broken three-quarters of the time. The cleanliness of wet areas like jacuzzis and pools has also raised health concerns, with one customer reporting skin irritation from a jacuzzi with improper chemical balance, despite no follow-up from staff.Security and theft are recurring issues. Several reviewers reported lockers being broken into and belongings stolen, with one noting that shower heads had been stolen by thieves. A review from described a lack of accountability, with a member's membership being auto-renewed and charged without consent, despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue with both the local manager and corporate customer service, which was reportedly unreachable. And today I learned the company is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It may not be a good time to join.

How long does it take to fix the equipment? I'm still paying every month my membership but we have several machines that have been broken for 2 to 3 months. This is not acceptable.

Absolutely terrible!!!!!

Been trying to submit a cancellation of service for weeks and then get charged an annual fee and they refuse to give me a refund for their system being faulty. Was never given ANY form of notification that they were even going to charge my account for an annual fee in the first place. And when trying to even call about the situation was given the run around several times.

24 Hour Fitness on 120th Scammers

24 Hour Fitness is running a promo for a 3-day try out our gyms before you commit. So I downloaded the pass. And headed to the nearest 24-hour Fitness located at 2831 w. 120th street, Hawthorne, CA 90250. Jonathan was seated at the front entrance. Let him know I had the 3-day pass and questioned how is it used? His response was “we don’t honor that here. That’s just something corporate says.” My response was, “your sign out front says the same thing.” Jonathan response, “yeah I know but we don’t offer that here. Our computers won’t process your free pass. But you can purchase a day pass for $30 and work out today.” So I ask for a manager, no one was available so he gave me a customer service email to address my concerns. However, I left went to the next closest 24-hour Fitness in Manhattan Beach and this location welcomed me with open arms! Shout out to Piaget who was at the front desk, very friendly, showed how to use the free pass and gave me a tour! Be careful with the 120th Hawthorne location because Jonathan appears to be scamming customers out of their money. Don’t fall for it!I look forward to trying the other location with the pool tomorrow. However, Jonathan is giving 24-Hour Fitness on 120th a bad reputation!

Hermosa Club is now DISGUSTING

I have been coming to the Manhattan and Hermosa clubs for many years. I can’t even remember how long. The clubs are DISGUSTING. They have fallen into disrepair. In Hermosa, at least a third of the machines are broken. There are no workout pads. All of the equipment is old and outdated, pads on the machines are worn out, busted or nonexistent creating safety hazards. The club is FILTHY. The club is very overcrowded, getting excessive usage. It is a health hazard. Nothing is clean, the floors, the machines, the windows. There isn’t one part of this club that doesn’t need a redo, the locker rooms, the sauna, the exercise area, all disgusting and unsanitary. Let’s not even talk about the bathrooms. They are a no-go zone. This is completely disrespectful to the South Bay community (the Manhattan Beach facility is often worse). A refresh won’t do. You need to close this club, gut it, and completely revamp it. To add insult to injury, the parking here used to be free. Now it’s pay for and while the first two hours are no charge, longer workouts are penalized. Three needed to be a MINIMUM. This is all unacceptable. The health issues are real and present. I have gotten a number of eye infections in recent months. It’s so bad that I have asked personnel whether the club is being sold.I go to other clubs (Del Amo) and in Denver and they are kept up. Where is this one is not?Can you please do something about this immediately?

I wish I saw the reviews here first

I wish I saw the reviews here first. They scammed me out of 300.00 and on ss that is a lot of money. I was sold a product, given a figure and told that was it. The following month they took another 300. and I was charged an overdraft fee by the bank on top of that. Well, now they come to tell me it was a MONTHLY fee. It was NEVER said monthly when I got it. These reviews show what a bad company this truly is.

24 Hour Fitness scam

I was charged my yearly fee of $3921.20 by 24 Hour Fitness Escondido in San Diego. I believed my frozen card would pause the renewal, and since it did not, I called shortly after the charge to cancel the membership and spoke with a staff member who confirmed my cancellation. She told me that 24Hour DOES do prorated refunds and that I would receive one. We proceeded with the refund and cancellation of my membership.Since I’m moving soon to a state without a 24-Hour Fitness location, I did not intend to resume my membership. I haven’t attended the gym since the cancellation, and I believed the matter was fully resolved. However, I was surprised to find the $3920 charge back on my card, over a month after the apparent refund and cancellation. This is not only unexpected but appears to contradict the terms I was assured of during the call. It’s frustrating to receive a charge like this after having been assured that my membership was canceled and my account resolved. I did not attend the gym for over a month as my membership was canceled. When I called again, the manager told me they "do not offer refunds," which contradicts what I was promised in the first call and what I believed had already been processed. My bank shares that 24 Hour Fitness never issued a refund at all, despite their assurance the first time I called. And the refund I saw was only temporary on Discovers end. Nothing from 24 Hour. Since then, I have sent emails to 24 Hour Fitness customer service and received no reply. I would like 24-Hour Fitness to honor what they originally claimed.I am at a dead end. I am moving to college and cannot just throw away $3920. Discover says they cannot help me. forensicprotectorcom thank you

24-Hour Fitness in Mission Hills

24-Hour Fitness in Mission Hills, Ca 91345. This branch is filthy! There’s trash all over the floor in the men’s shower room, and the steam room is frequently out of order—it often takes weeks before it gets fixed. Worse, the place seems to attract thieves. Lockers have been broken into, and people have had their belongings stolen. Management doesn’t seem to care. Incredibly, even the shower heads have been stolen by thieves! The worst part is their so-called discounted 1-year membership. It’s a scam. They tell you it’s a one-year deal, but it automatically renews and charges your credit card after the year ends. By the time you realize what happened, especially if you’ve stopped going, thinking your membership had expired, it’s too late to cancel. They’ll point to the fine print in the contract stating that the membership renews automatically.Avoid this branch. In fact, you might want to avoid 24-Hour Fitness altogether.

Disappointing Personal Training…

Disappointing Personal Training Experience - Proceed with CautionThe name of the Personal Trainer that I was assigned to was Destiny. She is a very Unreliable, Untrustworthy and Dishonest person and I feel compelled to share my experience with the personal training services at 24 Hour Fitness in Downey, CA to help others make an informed decision. My experience has been consistently disappointing on multiple levels:Key Issues:• Poor Communication: Repeated instances of unreturned calls and lack of follow-up• Unreliable Service: Trainers failed to deliver on promised services• Customer Service Concerns: Multiple attempts to address issues went unresolved• Training Program: Did not meet professional standards or expectationsThe personal training program fell significantly short of expectations. Despite multiple attempts to address these concerns, there was no improvement in communication or service quality. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend researching alternative fitness facilities, particularly if you're interested in personal training services.Pros:- Convenient locationCons:- Unreliable communication- Poor customer service- Lack of professional accountability- Unfulfilled commitments- Inconsistent training experienceI would strongly advise potential clients to thoroughly research their options and consider other facilities for personal training services.

24 hour fitness cleanliness issues

24 hour fitness a little while back, fired thier nightly cleaning crew. The cleanliness of the pool area has become more and more disgusting. It is getting so bad, that I have my membership tell August but I will stop going very soon if the cleanliness does not improve drastically.

Website did not inspire confidence

I wanted to join a gym and thought it would be fairly simple to do so, but a visit to the 24 Hour Fitness site left me second-guessing myself. It's so ... "untrustworthy" (if I had to assign one word to it). There are several links for you to join, and all the right adages to motivate you to join, but there is a great VOID when it comes to what the ACTUAL COST is for the memberships. It's almost as if this is done purposefully, which only sets off alarms. #SAD

Quality control needs to get better

Quality control needs to get better. Bathrooms are gross, plumbing issues. People that come there trash the place and the staff doesn’t seem to care.
